National Brain Research Centre (NBRC) will select candidates through two different channels for admissions to Ph.D. and Integrated M.Sc.-Ph.D. programmes for the year 2013.
  *Joint Graduate Entrance Examination for Biology and Interdisciplinary Life Science (JGEEBILS).
  *Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE-2012/GATE-2013).
Candidates will be short-listed for a two-tier interview based on their performance in the JGEEBILS examination or their score in the GATE examination.

Ph.D. (NEUROSCIENCE):
NBRC offers a Ph.D. programme in Neuroscience. Students from diverse backgrounds are considered for this programme. Fellowship for Junior Research Fellows is Rs.16000 per month and for Senior Research Fellows it is Rs.18000 per month.
Eligibility:
Master's degree or equivalent in any branch of Science such as Life Sciences/ Physics /Chemistry /Mathematics / Statistics /Computer applications /Pharmacy /Veterinary Science /Psychology from a recognized Institute/University or A minimum of four-year bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering/Technology/Medicine from a recognized Institute/University.
Candidates appearing for final year of the qualifying examination are also eligible to apply.
Only the candidates with at least 55% (for SC/ST/PH candidates, 50%) marks or equivalent grade from secondary (10th) examination onwards will be considered. Candidates should calculate their percentage up to two decimal points without rounding off to determine their eligibility.

INTEGRATED M.Sc-Ph.D. (NEUROSCIENCE):
NBRC is one of the first Institutes in the country to develop an Integrated M.Sc.-Ph.D. programme in Neuroscience. These students are provided a fellowship of Rs.5000 per month for the first two years. From third year, they are paid fellowships on par with the Ph.D. students. After completion of the programme, the students will be awarded both M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees.
Eligibility:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in any branch of Science such as Life Sciences/ Physics/ Chemistry/ Mathematics/ Statistics/ Computer applications /Pharmacy /Veterinary Science /Psychology/ Engineering/ Technology/ Medicine from a recognized Institute/ University.

Last date of application for JGEEBILS: 16th October 2012.
Application opens at NBRC (www.nbrc.ac.in) : 05th October 2012
Last date for receipt of both online & offline applications along with Demand Draft, at NBRC: 31st December, 2012
Candidates short-listed for the interview will be informed latest by April 2013. The interviews are likely to be held in the month of May/June 2013.
The interview dates will also be published on the NBRC web site.

Online Application opens for NBRC : 01st February 2013.
Last date of application to NBRC: 31st March 2013.
Last date for receipt of Demand Draft at NBRC is 08th April 2013.
Candidates short-listed for the interview will be informed by end of April 2013. The interviews are likely to be held in the month of May/June 2013. The interview dates will also be published on the NBRC web site.
