Job Description
Hilleman Labs is looking for candidates to fill the position of Associate Scientist – Molecular Biology R&D. The incumbent, will support all molecular biology work related to vaccine development. 90% of the time will be spent in the lab working on creating recombinant strains, to be used for vaccine development.
The key indicative functions for this position
- Proper documentation in form of Lab reports
- Experimental design
- Lab Management as a team member
- Literature search
- Manuscript/Patent writing as required
Required skills:
- Hands-on experience in gene cloning & overexpression of proteins in bacterial expression system. Experience in expression vector design and expression of multi-peptide membrane proteins in E. coli.
- Molecular biology techniques like PCR, Gene Cloning, Gene Knock-out, Bacterial genomic DNA
- Plasmid extraction, RNA isolation, Reverse Transcriptase PCR.
- Biochemical techniques like protein purification using His-Tag and other column based chromatography, PAGE etc.
- Immunological techniques like Western blot, Dot blot & ELISA Knowledge of Bioinformatics like Nucleotide & Protein sequence alignment, BLAST, primer designing, knowledge of sequence assembly of bacterial genomic sequence would be an added advantage
