The Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT) Mumbai was established as the Department of Chemical Technology on 1st October, 1933 by the University of Mumbai, through active support of industries and philanthropists. The Institute was most popularly known as UDCT, Mumbai. Research has been an integral part of ICT since its inception and it has created over 500 first generation entrepreneurs. The UDCT grew significantly in stature and was granted autonomy under UGC regulations by the University of Mumbai and further converted in to an Institute on 26th January, 2002. Under the World Bank TEQIP programme, the Maharashtra government granted it full autonomy in June 2004. Due to the recommendations of the Government of Maharashtra and University of Mumbai, the ICT was granted Deemed University Status by the MHRD on 12th September, 2008, with all provisions of the UGC for funding and support as the state owned deemed university.

Post: Research Associate

No.of post: One

Duration: Till March 2016 (Initially for 6 Months), extendable to 1 year based on project conlinuation and performance of the candidate

Remuneration: Rs, 10,000/-

Essential Qualification: M.Pharm Chemistry and M.Tech Bioprocess Technology

Research Experience: Catalysis including enzyme catalysis, Extraction of natural excipients from microbial sources, biochemical synthesis

Project title: Chemo enzymatic synthesis of anti-infectives

About the Project: The candidate should have worked with Extraction of natural excipients from microbial sources or enzymatic synthesis. The candidate should be able to work with characterization facilities LC, LC-MS, IR, NMR etc

Interested candidates may appear for a "walk-in-interview" at the Conference Room, Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Technology, Institute of Chemical Technology, Matunga, Mumbai 400019 on Friday, September 18, 2015 at 2:30 pm, with a detailed resume. No TA/DA will be paid; candidate has to bear his or her own travel expenses. Candidates who register by 2;45 pm on the day of the interview will be allowed to appear for the interview.
