Job description:
We are seeking an IT R&D Business Analyst, this role will be responsible for developing relationships with R&D stakeholders, surfacing unmet IT needs and project requests, and managing portfolios of software products and IT projects. S/he will serve as a strategic IT liaison to the R&D organization and will translate their requirements into technical solutions & processes. S/he will be expected to actively gather requirements, communicate with our Business staff to assure their understanding of existing tools, projects, and future direction, and meet their ever-changing needs. S/he will focus on building strong partnerships and delivering operational, strategic and meaningful IT solutions. The position will work closely with the Sr. IT Project Manager and will report directly to the IT Executive Director, R&D and Enterprise Applications.

Key Accountabilities/Core Job Responsibilities:
• Pro-actively lead requirement gathering efforts and translate into Business Process/Functional and Technical requirements/Specifications.
• Work with the technical teams to develop technical requirements and solutions.
• Evaluate technical solutions and determine best fit for Client needs.
• Ability to develop solutions to complex problems that require a high degree of ingenuity, creativity and innovation within the boundaries of industry compliance regulation.
• Identifies and recommends business process improvements.
• Assisting in solutions identification, evaluation, selection, implementation, testing, and working with the IT technical delivery team(s) to meet and exceed business requirements.
• Ability to articulate complex technical problems and solutions to a wide business audience, communicating solution value to the business.
• Provide stewardship of information flow and data governance within R&D.
• Support and provide guidance and methodologies to help the business adopt technologies. Ensure the business is sufficiently prepared and enabled to make the change.
• Gather and validate business needs to translate into requirements for technical teams.
• Developing the necessary documentation for IT solutions projects working closely with Project Managers - e.g. statement of work, project objectives & metrics, business requirements, use cases, storyboards, functional specifications, systems & end-user documentation.
• Serves as a ""super user"", trainer, and technical/functional software support expert during implementations and for prototypes & pilots; serve as an in-house expert and promoter for our application portfolio.

Candidate Profile
• Minimum of 3 to 5 years' experience as a business analyst, with command of business analysis techniques & tools, as well as SDLC & iterative systems development methodologies, in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry.
• Strong knowledge of information systems & workflows for processes related to ClinOps, MedAffairs, CDM, BioStats ClinSci and Informatics.
• Experience supporting MD's, PharmD's and PhD's.
• Familiarity with GxP, Sunshine Act and related regulations governing drug development and commercialization.
• Well-developed business partnering & collaboration skills, adept at establishing & sustaining effective working relationships, both within & between departments.
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, with the ability to interact with business users, technical IT groups, project managers, senior management, outsourced service providers, and vendors.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills; able to organize and present ideas in a convincing and compelling manner.
• Ability to operate effectively in a matrix environment; team player yet able to work independently with minimal direction.
• Have a drive to improve process, help people and be passionate about helping patients. Education Minimum BA or BS in relevant life science or computer science required. Advanced degree preferred.
