Post: Senior Field Application Scientist (Pre-Sales)
Job Description
Reporting to the BIOVIA Country Head, the Senior Presales Field Application Scientist will be required to work closely with customers and the BIOVIA sales team to provide pre-sales support for the BIOVIA Process Management and Compliance (PMC) Suite. This includes technical presentations, proposal submissions and product demonstrations and product training. Other key responsibilities include providing marketing input for product development, coordinating services delivery and proactively supporting the sales team in the managing of customer accounts. Due to the high customer-facing nature of the role, the candidate should have outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
Candidate Profile
•Hold a M.Sc. or Ph.D. degree in Biology, Chemistry, Physics or related fields.
•Peer-reviewed publications in relevant fields.
•Experience in using informatics software gained either in industry or academia.
•Competent in the use of Oracle and/or other relational databases and their workflows in relation to R&D, QA/QC or manufacturing within the pharmaceuticals, biotechnology and chemicals industries.
•Technical knowledge in one or more of the following; Java, Perl, C++, UML/XML, Unix/Windows/Linux Platform will be a plus.
•Technical knowledge around grid computing, clusters and parallel data processing.
•Experience in project management, technical consulting and delivering technical training is highly preferred.
•Self-motivated, with the ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a larger team.
•Be willing to travel within India and abroad for 30% of the time, including overnight travel.
