Job Description
The Environmental Health & Safety Leader will demonstrate leadership in communicating business goals, programs, and processes for an area or business segment. In this role, he / she will utilize experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and have the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals.
Essential Responsibilities
• Assist certain assigned aspects (technical, regulatory/third party interface, reporting, permitting, compliance, financial, administrative, etc.) of GE Healthcare projects and permits in compliance with relevant regulatory programs and GE corporate policies.
• Evaluate facility EHS conditions, assess risks and develop appropriate corrective-action plans.
• Provide EHS guidance and compliance support to site EHS managers to ensure compliance with regulatory and program requirements. Participate in EHS compliance and program audits of manufacturing sites and service operations.
• Keep management apprised of progress and significant developments on key projects
• Lead the implementation and validation of GE health, safety and environmental Frameworks.
• Provide EHS guidance and compliance support to management team to ensure compliance with regulatory & GE program requirements.
• Assist management in executing GE Healthcare Environmental, Health & Safety priorities, metrics, goals and requirements
• Proactively drive continuous improvement in EHS performance and programs
• Drive improvements in organizational EHS culture, awareness, and accountability
• Conduct incident / accident investigations and develop corrective and preventative action plans
• Maintain business EHS metrics and work cooperatively with the business team on various projects and initiatives, including, program sustainability, and culture change
• Using GE EHS digital tools, conduct data mining to identify EHS program trends and develop corrective and preventative actions.
• Coordinate employee EHS training, lead EHS audits, and maintain EHS records.
• Act as primary liaison with regulatory agencies concerning all EHS issues, understand regulatory changes and trends and forecast site impacts.
• Travel to the various Business offices and job sites inside country is a requirement.

1. Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position
2. Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines
3. Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required

Qualifications/Requirements
• Bachelors in Biology, Life Sciences, or related technical discipline
• 3-4 years experience in EHS Activities supporting a site/service
• Field compliance experience with federal and state EHS regulations
• Proven project and program management skills
Excellent Communication Skills

Desired Characteristics
• Experience managing projects and/or EHS compliance.
• Able to simultaneously manage multiple projects and other responsibilities, adjust to changing priorities and to make decisions with speed and accuracy based on available information
• Team player with strong interpersonal skills, capable of working within a globally diverse, cross-functional, internal and external team across different time zones.
• Excellent oral and written communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
