National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER) is the first national level institute in pharmaceutical sciences with a proclaimed objective of becoming a centre of excellence for advanced studies and research in pharmaceutical sciences. The Government of India has declared NIPER as an 'Institute of National Importance'. It is an autonomous body set up under the aegis of Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Government of India. The Institute is conceived to provide leadership in pharmaceutical sciences and related areas not only within the country, but also to the countries in South East Asia, South Asia and Africa. NIPER is a member of Association of Indian Universities and Association of Commonwealth Universities.

Educational Qualification: Essential qualifications: M.Sc. in Organic Chemistry; OR M.S.(Pharm.)/M. Pharm./M.Tech (Pharm.) in [Medicinal Chemistry/ Pharmaceutical Chemistry/ Pharmaceutical Technology (Bulk Drugs/Process Chemistry)/ Pharmacoinformatics).
Desirable: 1. Experience in synthetic organic chemistry/synthesis of organic compounds, molecular modelling and medicinal chemistry/ CADD.
2. Hands on experience in using software Sybyl, Schrodinger, Discovery Studio, etc.

Fellowship: Rs. 22,000/- pm
Discipline: Chemistry
Educational Qualification: Essential: Ph.D. in Medicinal Chemistry / Pharmaceutical Chemistry / Organic Chemistry. Desirable: Experience in organic synthesis involving transition metal catalyst/ synthesis of bioactive compounds exemplified with research publications.

For JRF, Minimum CGPA of 6.75 (or 60% marks) for General, 6.25 (or 55% marks) for SC/ST, 5.75 (or 50 % marks) for physically handicapped (PH) candidates is essential on a 10 point scale in the qualifying examination. GATE/ GPAT/NET qualification is essential.

Age Limit: 28 years for JRF and 35 years for RA (may be relaxed depending upon the suitability of qualification, experience and relaxation for SC/ST/PH/OBC as per GOI rules). All the posts are contractual in nature and none of the post holds right to permanency. The above positions are purely temporary initially for one year extendable for a period of two years and based on the satisfaction of the Pi's (Project IDs: KA01/TB01) and co-terminus with the project. Walk in Interview for the posts Serial No. 1 & 2 will be held on 31st March, 2015 at 10 am till 12:00 noon in the Conference Room of the Convention Centre. Candidates should bring three copies of the application giving details of educational qualifications, experience with name of the Institute, post held, scale of pay and past salary.

Candidates should also bring all original documents of educational qualifications, certificates and testimonials. Application should be accompanied by demand draft for Rs. 100/- (Rs. 50/- for SC/ST/PH) in favour of "Director NIPER”, drawn on any scheduled bank payable at Mohali/ Chandigarh. Reservation of SC/ST and PH is as per GOI rules. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the Walk-in-Interview.

ONLY THOSE WHO HAVE RECEIVED THEIR FINAL CERTIFICATE IN THE QUALIFYING EXAM WILL BE PERMITTED TO APPEAR FOR THE INTERVIEW
CANVASSING IN ANY FORM WILL BE TREATED AS DISQUALIFICATION FOR THE POST.
