Job Description
- Conceptually analyze and search scientific information using online and manual resources.
- Summarize literature search results and generate search reports using various computer software programs to manipulate, package, and deliver targeted search results.
- Effectively set priorities and resolve competing demands while managing multiple assignments.
- Provide Haskell scientists with relevant information using information science reference interview skills.
- Regularly obtain training in online searching databases, tools, and techniques to maintain currency in searching discipline.
- Function as a team player in all assignments

Experience and skill set:
* BS or MS degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Toxicology or health –related field
* Information Science or Library Science degree or equivalent experience preferred.
* Demonstrated working knowledge of biology, chemistry, or related scientific field.
* Demonstrated experience and basic skills in searching for scientific data and information.
* Demonstrated effective oral and written communications skills in English, including effective customer interactions.
* Ability to understand and use taxonomies, substructure tools, and other controlled vocabulary and indexing terms to search for information.
* Demonstrated proficiency in diversified computer software packages and online databases.
* Ability to learn the content and structure of database files covering toxicology data, toxicology literature, toxic releases, and physical properties, environmental fate and chemical searching and nomenclature.
* Demonstrated ability to set priorities effectively and manage multiple assignments.
* Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.
* Familiarity with toxicology terminology, acronyms, and the concepts of routes of exposure, lethal doses, and exposure limits is very helpful.
* Knowledge and experience searching databases like TOXLINE®, the Hazardous Substances Data Bank, the Integrated Risk Information System, the Toxic Release Inventory, Chemical Abstracts, BIOSIS, Medline, ChemIDplus, NTIS, is extremely helpful.
