Job Summary 
The Senior Application Analyst provides technical and, domain expertise in support of the Clinical Applications implementation and maintenance activities related to specific application areas. The Senior Application Analyst independently addresses issues and designs decisions of moderate complexity with little or no supervision and delivers clear communication and documentation of complex concepts and issues related to clinical and non-clinical applications across the organization. This includes leading the analysis, resolution of issue, communication of resolution to affected users. The Senior Application Analyst also contributes to testing activities and training activities including creation of educational documentation and support to end users.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities 
Contributes domain expertise to the analysis, build and configuration of the Clinical Applications. 

Operational Activities
• Supervises and assists in the preparation and facilitation of Clinical Application validation sessions
• Assists in gathering of requirements from business and clinical stakeholders
• Contributes expertise to the documentation of workflows for the Clinical Applications
• Finalizes documentation of Reporting Queries as gathered from clinical and business stakeholders 

Application Analysis, Configuration and Test
• Contributes expertise to the process and functional design activities of multiple Clinical Applications
• Contributes expertise in application build, test and deploy activities
• Contributes expertise to data conversion activities
• Assists in test planning and execution
• Continually identifies areas of opportunity for improvement in system and application monitoring • Collaborate with the Infrastructure teams in developing appropriate backup and recovery procedures for all applications and conduct periodic recovery tests 

Training
• Leverages Clinical Application best practices and provides input to and customizes best practice policies, procedures and training for the effective use of Clinical applications
• Leads components in the development of end-user training materials and participates in training efforts/activities 

Go-Live Activities
• Leads the implementation of the software design changes(s) of enhancement specifications
• Using Quality Improvement Principles, leads the effort to identify and document requirements for system changes, workflow changes, and other system design decisions that support clinical operations while maintaining team standards and allowing for sustainable maintenance
• Provides functional expertise to optimize the design, development and maintenance of Clinical Applications
• Reviews system configuration and design options making appropriate recommendation for system maintenance requests
• Provides support to new end-users during their “Go-Live” phase, including direct provider support during patient encounters
• Acts as a liaison and/or facilitates communication between the end-users and vendor as appropriate
• Attend various Informatics committees as required
• Lead Troubleshooting, support and maintenance of applications

Education Requirements 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Management, Nursing or Pharmacy,
  • Laboratory, or equivalent experience is required
  • Experience typically supported by a license in a medially related field such as Nursing,
  • Pharmacy, Laboratory or Medical Technology Certification in multiple Clinical Applications

Experience Requirements 
Current Certification in one or more Clinical Applications
Extensive Clinical Applications Domain Expertise
Minimum of 3- 5 years of experience in EMR implementation, previous SME experience preferred
Proficiency in various programming an clinical application reporting tools
Proficient knowledge of healthcare industry required; familiarity with clinical and administrative
hospital functions and departments preferred and healthcare information technology. Highly self-motivated, directed and change oriented Ability to perform independently and manage workflow appropriately
Ability to analyze highly complex systems and workflows
Ability to conceptualize, plan, organize, coordinate and manage the work of a major program or function within the department
Ability to function in a dynamic environment subject to impromptu changes in schedules and priorities Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently
Ability to lead and direct Clinical Application upgrades
Knowledge of disaster recovery and backup procedures
Demonstrated ability to establish and build strong working relationships Strong communication skills-written and oral and the ability to present in large groups
Ability to demonstrate project management, customer service and support skills, and ability to escalate and contribute to resolving issues accordingly
Proficient with MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS Work, MS Visio and MS Power-Point
Ability to speak and write in English is required
Ability to speak and write in both English and Arabic is preferred
