Walk in interview for Research Associate, Senior Research Fellow, Junior Research Fellow, Project Assistant in NCCS

The National Centre for Cell Science (NCCS) took birth as National Tissue Culture Facility in March 11, 1986 with a mandate of basic research, teaching & training, and as a national repository for cell lines/hybridomas etc. The centre is located in the midst of academically enriched environment of University of Pune campus, Pune.

The interview program for the following temporary project posts tenable at NCCS, Pune.

Post: Research Associate, Senior Research Fellow, Junior Research Fellow, Project Assistant

Sr.Nos. 01- Research Associate (One Post)
Name of the project & Principal  Investigator: Role of Nuclear  Matrix P rotein  SMAR 1 as Regulator  of Suppressor T C ell  in Inflammatory  Bowel Disease (IBD)” under  supervision of  Dr.  Samit  Chattopadhyay,  Scientist ‘G’
Upper Age limit: 35 years
Qualification & Experience: Essential:  Ph.D. in any branch of life  science or equivalent degree or  having three years of research  experience after MVSc/MPharm/ME/MTech.
Desirable: Fellow should have one or more good publication s in internal journals; Hand on  experience in immuno biology  techniques is preferred. Candidates hould handle more than one project s at a time and also have strong knowledge  in  molecular biology techniques.
Monthly Emoluments: Rs.  36,000/ - pm  +20%  HRA
Tenure: Three years

Sr.Nos. 02- Senior Research Fellow (One Post)

Upper Age limit: 32 years
Qualification & Experience:
Essential:  M. Sc.  or equivalent degree with  minimum of 55% marks in any  branch of life science and at least  two years of post - M.Sc. research  experience. Desirable:  Minimum  2  years  of  hand on  research  experience with strong  k nowledge in molecular b iology techniques , immunobiology,  cloning, protein purification,  structure biology etc.
Monthly Emoluments: Rs. 28,000/- + 20% HRA
Tenure: Three years

Sr.Nos. 03- Senior Research Fellow (One Post)
Name of the project: “Regulation of CD44  splicing by tumor  suppressor SMAR1:  Implications in  cancer metastasis”  under supervision of Dr. Samit  Chattopadhyay,  Scientist ‘G ’
Upper Age limit: 32 years
Qualification & Experience:
Ess ential:  M. Sc.  or equivalent degree with  minimum of 55% marks in any  branch of life science and at least  two years of post - M.Sc. research  experience. Desirable: Minimum 4 years of research experience  in the field of  molecular biology, immunobiology and p roteomics.  Candidates hav ing experience in  handling  virus will be  preferred.
Monthly Emoluments: Rs. 18,000/- pm + 20% HRA
Tenure: Eight months

Qualification & Experience:
Essential:  M. Sc.  or equivalent degree with  minimum of 55% marks in any  branch of life science and at least  two years of post - M.Sc. research  experience. Desirable: At least 2 years  of research  experience in mammalian cell  culture and Molecular Biology of  HIV - 1 virus related work will be  preferred.

Qualification & Experience:
Essential:   M. Sc.  in Chemistry  or  equivalent degree with  minimum of 55% marks in any  branch of life science and having qualified NET/GATE/LS/BET.
Desirable: Experience in clinical research work in the field of  metabolomics and proteomics. Bioinformatics and biostatistics  experience will  be given high  preference
Monthly Emoluments: Rs.  12 ,000/ - pm +  20% HRA
Tenure: Ten months

Sr.Nos. 06- Project  Assistant (One Post)
Name of the project: “ Structural and  functional studies on  Nup93  sub complex of the nuclear pore  complex ” under  supervision of  Dr.  Radha Chauhan,  Scientist ‘D’

Qualification & Experience:
Essential:   M.Sc. or equivalent degree with  minimum of 55% marks in any  branch of lif e science. Desirable: Experience in molecula r biology,  cloning, recombinant protein  expression and bacterial culture  is desirable.
Monthly Emoluments: Rs.  8,000/ - pm (Fixed)
Tenure: Two Years

Sr.Nos. 07- Project  Assistant (One Post)
Name of the project: “Understanding  membrane dynamics in embryonic stem cells.” under  supervision of Dr. Deepa  Subramanyam,   Scientist ‘D'
Upper Age limit: 28 years
Qualification & Experience:
Essential: M. Sc. or equivalent degree in  chemistry or any branch of life  science with minimum of 55%  marks.
Desirable:  Should have experience in  micros copy, biophysical techniques, analysis using  MATLAB and k nowledge of  membrane dynamics. Cloning  and protein purification  experience would be an added  advantage.
Monthly Emoluments: Rs.  8,000/ - pm (Fixed)
Tenure: Three months

Sr.Nos. 08- Project  Assistant (One Post)
Name of the project: Identification and  characterization of  novel potential  biomarkers for breas t  cancer using gel - based (2 - D DIGE)  and LC - based (iTRAQ - LC - MS)  proteomic  approaches and  bioinformatics tools” under supervision of  Dr. Srikanth Rapole,  Scientist ‘D’
Upper Age limit: 28 years
Qualification & Experience:
Essential:  M. Sc.  in chemistry  or equivalent  degree  in  any branch of life  scie nce with minimum of 55%  marks.
Desirable:  Experience in clinical  research work in the field of  proteomics. Candidate ready to  travel many places for collecting  clinical samples may be given  preference.
Monthly Emoluments: Rs.  8,000/ - pm (Fixed)
Tenure: One  Year and  Three  Months

- Applications  in  the  prescribed  format*  duly  filled  in  along  with  attested  copies  of  all  relevant  certificates showing date of birth, qualifications (SSC onwards), experience, details of the exam  passed,  caste status and other necessary documents should reach to The Director,  National Centre For Cell Science, NCCS Complex, S. P. Pune University  Campus,  Post:  Ganeshkhind,  Pune  – 411 007, Ma harashtra, India on or before 28.07.2015. The A4 size envelope contain ing  the application must be superscribed in bold letters on the top as under: “APPLICATION FOR  THE POST OF PROJECT - ............”.
- Applications  received  after  the  due  date  and  /  or  without  the  copies  of  the  required  certificates/documents  will  not  be  considered. Incomplete  applications  will  be  strictly  rejected.  Candidates must be filled up latest  prescribed application form  only which is  available on our  institute website under career tab.
- Mere fulfilling the minimum prescribed qualifications and experience will not vest any right in a  candidate for calling for interview. The Centre reserves the right to call for interview only those  candidates who in its opinion are likely to be suitable. However, no any correspondence will  be entertained in this regard.
- SC/ST/ OBC candidates must produce proof of their caste certificate from appropriate authority.  In  addition,  OBC  candidates  must  also  produce  latest /valid non - creamy  layer  certificate  in  the  prescribed form for claiming the reservation benefits.
- 5% Marks relaxati on will be given to SC/ST candidates i.e. minimum of 50 % marks.
- The Director, NCCS reserves the right to enhance / reduce  the number of posts and also  cancel  the recruitment process.
- Candidates should specifically note that due to postal delay applicatio ns will not be entertained  by this institute after due date and no correspondence will be made in this regard.
- Candidates are required to mention the post preference as per their interest and research area in  the prescribed application form.
- Fellowship/Emoluments:  Emoluments  to the research personnel engaged under project (03 - SRF,  04 - SRF,  05 - JRF,  06 - PA,  07 - PA  &  08 - PA) will be made in accordance with the DST O.M. No. A.20020/1197- IFD dated 31.03.2010 and Emoluments to the research personnel engaged under pr oject (01 - RA & 02 - SRF) will be made in accordance with the DST O.M. No, SR/S9/Z - 09/2012 dated 21.10.2014 or depending on the respective project sanctioned orders issued by funding  agency.
- For RA Position, Candidates who are yet to be  awarded the Ph.D. degr ee, if selected, will be  paid Rs. 18,000/ - pm + HRA till the award of the degree.
- Candidates  should  mention  title  of the thesis, list of publications with full references in the application form.
- List of shortlisted candidates called for interview will be  published on our  institute  website on or  after 04/08/2015 .
- Upper age limit will be considered as on closing date of receipt of application. Age relaxation of  5 years in case of SC/ST/Women/PH candidates and 3 years in case of OBC candidates will be given as per Government of India rules. Reservation as per Govt. of India norms will  be  followed.
- No TA will be paid for attending the interview.
- Selected candidates will have to join duty immediately on receipt of the offer of appointment.
- Please bring all the  original certificates showing date of birth, qualification, statement of marks  of  the  exam  passed,  degree  certificates,  certificate  of  past  experience,  certificate  in  support  of  present employment, salary certificate  & other relevant documents along with a set of attested copies at the time of interview.
