Opportunity for the post of Directors in National Institutes of Pharmaceutical Education and Research

National Institutes of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPERs)under the aegis of Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Department of Pharmaceuticals are institutes of National importance created by an Act of Parliament with a mandate to nurture and promote quality and excellence in pharmaceutical education and research as to create human resources of a higher caliber for the Indian pharmaceutical industry, towards making India a global leader in innovation and Drug Discovery while continue to offer leadership in formulations. The NIPERs- Guwahati, Hajipur, Hyderabad& Raebareli are set up during 2007-08 and are functioning under premier mentor institutions and are being developed as independent institutions soon. The NIPER Mohali is having its own campus. Now applications are invited for the post of Director of these NIPERs.

Post: Directors of NIPERs –Mohali, Guwahati, Hajipur, Hyderabad and Raebareli.

Duration: A period of five years

Expectation: The Director as institutional head will be responsible for the Institution building of the NIPERs towards achieving the mandate/ functions outlined in NIPER Act, 1998 including imparting education at PG level, Doctoral and post-doctoral, R&D, and other professional works of the institution.Takes accountability for the delivery of results expected under NIPER Act, 1998.

Salary/ remuneration: Fixed salary of Rs.80,000/- per month. Other benefits and allowances at par with Central Government employees.

Education: Ph.D and Masters in Pharmaceuticals related areas of Science and Technology.

Professional experience: At least 20 years research experience including teaching and published work in journals of repute. Should have worked for at least 10 years as Professor either in India or abroad or Scientist at Research Institutes of repute (Scientist G with Grade Pay of Rs. 10,000/-) or holding a proven leadership position at Pharmaceutical Industry in R&D.

Administrative experience: Proven Leadership/ administrative experience.

An innovative thinker who can critically assess the NIPER’s current position and offer a compelling vision for the future to build an innovation ecosystem. The candidate should be energetic with futuristic outlook. An intense focus on institutional building in a holistic sense is a desired attribute.

Age: Not be more than 60 years of age as on closing date of application.

For each NIPER, Candidates should make a separate application. Each application envelope and forwarding/ email subject should state the choice of post: “Application is for the Director, NIPER………..”. One candidate can apply for more than 1 NIPER.
