The job
- Set targets for the team according to the overall strategies for Biostatistics and Programming department, conduct performance evaluation of team members, including development plan discussions and provide expertise, direction, motivation and guidance for comprehensive understanding of business requirements and department expectations
- Ensure that appropriate plan is prepared to meet the study timelines and monitor study progress with team members on a regular basis, attend study group meetings regularly and help prioritize tasks according to Novo Nordisk prioritisation
- Solicit timely feedback from key stakeholders
- Follow up on deliverables ensuring timely, high quality and cost-effective outcome and communicate progress to the manager/Head of Biostatistics and Programming Department
- Participate in review of study deliverables including SAP, SPS, EOT material, RM slides, etc., monitor study progress with team members on a regular basis, attend study group meetings regularly and mentor/coach team members to enable them to move into the next level of seniority
- Ensure that all employees in the team are provided the needed support and possess the necessary competencies
- Support the team in their communication with stakeholders (e.g. trial teams, vendors and management)
- Ensure that the team work in compliance with Novo Nordisk Quality system and SOPs
- Facilitate continuously improving the teams ‘way of working’ in close collaboration with the other teams and departments in GD-GSC and HQ teams
- Support recruitment process by interviewing potential candidates, engaging with recruiters to ensure smooth recruitment process, providing input to hiring decision and making initial salary proposal for new hire
- Promote the exchange of know-how within the department and externally via participation in the relevant clinical forums/communities
- Be part of planning and making contributions to department meetings, raise relevant issues and inform relevant parties, and contribute to the general information flow within the department
- Provide input to department budget e.g. travel and courses
- Act as Trial Statistician or Programmer on specified trials if needed
- Participate in improvement initiatives as needed


Candidate Profile
Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Statistics, Life Sciences or comparable degree in related field or equivalent professional experience

- SAS Programming/Statistical Analysis experience
- Minimum 5 – 7 years using statistical/statistical programming methodology within the pharmaceutical area or equivalent
- Experience with practical applications of biostatistics/statistical programming methodology
- Knowledge of drug development
- Sound understanding of clinical systems, SAS tools and processes
- Knowledge of information technology and computer systems supporting clinical development
- Managed multiple projects in individual capacity
- Good understanding of ICH-GCP guidelines
- Excellent communication and people skills with experience in managing a team on study projects
