Job Description:
-Supervise and execute lab/pilot plant experiments related to advanced oxidative effluent treatment involving physico-chemical processes, recovery of VOCs from off gases using adsorptive/membrane processes and value addition to organic as well as inorganic chemical process wastes.
-Organize facilities for experiments on environmental research and technical support projects.
-Conduct literature survey on research projects.
-Work on method development and SOP preparation.
-Review validity of analysis and test methods.
-Assist in plant trouble shooting.
-Compile results ensuring availability of any specific data as required and draft reports on work related to environmental chemistry
-Ensure accurate records as per IPR/accreditation requirements.
-Follow applicable HSE procedures/practices.
-Awareness of environmental, site, statutory, IP regulations.
-Handle chemicals and tools as per safety norms.
-Ensure safe working conditions with good housekeeping and PPEs compliance.
-Familiarize with relevant administrative aspects.
-Drafting for publications (paper/patent) and oral presentations
Skills Required (Knowledge and Skills)
-Fundamental concepts of environmental science including processes to assess monitor & treat chemical wastes, material synthesis.
-Experimentation planning and design for the project work
-Analytical methods and skills like -Spectroscopy, Gravimetric measurements, Separation methods like Gas Chromatography (FID/FPD/ECD) & Microscopy; membrane separation etc.
-Ability to learn and develop new skills as per requirements in the projects
-Working knowledge of liquid/column chromatography, peristaltic pumps & field sampling methods.
