Walk in interview for Research Fellowship (5 no.) from Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, M. D. University

Maharshi Dayanand University, ab initio established as Rohtak University, Rohtak, came into existence by an Act No. 25 of 1975 of the Haryana Legislative Assembly in 1976 with the objective to promote inter-disciplinary higher education and research in the fields of environmental, ecological and life sciences. It was rechristened as Maharshi Dayanand University in 1977 after the name of a great visionary and social reformer, Maharshi Dayanand. It had a unitary and residential character in its nascent stage, but became an affiliating University in November 1978. The University secured the recognition of University Grants Commission – the higher education regulatory body of India - for central Govt. grants in Feb. 1983.

Post: Research Fellowship

The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, M. D. University will be holding Walk-in-Interview for the University Grants Commission awarded UGC-BSR Research Fellowship for the academic session 2013-2014 with the purpose of providing opportunities to meritorious students to undertake research leading to Ph.D. degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences.

Scholarship Details:
Tenure: The tenure of fellowship is initially for two years extendable for a further period of three years on the basis of the research work of the first two years.

Nature of Assistance:
Fellowship is Rs. 14000/- p.m. and Contingency is Rs. 12000/- p.a. plus HRA as per University rules

Total No. of fellowships: 05 (Five) under UGC-BSR.

Eligibility Criteria:
Qualified M.Pharm. Candidates who are eligible for registration to Ph.D. Programme (Candidates who qualified pre Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences / who are pursuing pre PhD course in Pharmaceutical Sciences at MDU) in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak can apply.

Other conditions: The research fellow, with the consent of the Guide/Head of the Department, may assist the university in its academic work, including tutorials, evaluation of test papers, laboratory demonstration, supervision of field work, library activities like group seminars and symposia, provided such work is not likely to hinder the research program. The total amount of time to be spent on such activities should not exceed 10 hrs a week.

Cancellation of award of fellowship: Fellowship is liable to cancellation in case of i) Misconduct, ii) Unsatisfactory progress of research work/failure in any examination related to Ph. D. or iii) Fellow is found ineligible later.
