Applications are invited for the teaching post of Assistant Professors in various departments of the Faculties / Colleges of the University. The application form along with the details of vacancies can be downloaded from the University website msubaroda.ac.in. The duly filled application form along with all necessary enclosures and a bank payment challan/demand draft drawn in favour of “The Registrar, The M.S. University of Baroda” of Rs.1000/- (Rs.250/- for SC & ST candidates) must reach the Registrar, The M. S. University of Baroda, Fatehgunj, Vadodara - 390002 on or before 23rd January, 2014. No amount will be accepted either in Cash or by Money Order / Postal Order

Eligibility
(i) A Bachelor and Master degree in Pharmacy with First Class or equivalent either in Bachelor or Master’s degree.
(ii)Registration as a pharmacist under the Pharmacy Act, 1948, as amended from time to time, including any succeeding enactments.

Desirable:
a. Teaching, research industrial and/ or professional experience in a reputed organization; and
b. Papers presented at Conferences and/ or in refereed journals.

Salary/Pay Band: Rs.15600-39100 GP Rs.6000

RECRUITMENT AND QUALIFICATIONS:
1. The minimum qualifications for the post of Assistant Professor/ Lecturer / Pradhyapak, are those as expressed by UGC vide its notification no. F-3-1/2009 dated 30-6-2010 and AICTE notification no. 37-3/ legal / 2010 dated 5-3-2010 and GR of Govt. of Gujarat N.G.C./112009/3734/KAH dated 4-12-2009 and subsequent amendments made therein.
2. The minimum qualifications required for the post of Assistant Professors will be those as prescribed by the UGC in these regulations.
3. The minimum requirement of a good academic record, 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) at Master’s level and at least 50% marks at Bachelor’s examinations and qualifying in the National Eligibility test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC like SLET/SET shall remain for the appointment of Assistant Professor.
4. NET/SLET/SET shall remain the minimum eligibility condition for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor. Provided however, that candidates, who are have been awarded a Ph. D. degree in accordance with the UGC (minimum standards and procedure for award of Ph. D. degree) Regulations 2009, shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professors in Universities/ Colleges/ Institutions.
5. NET/SLET/SET shall not be required for such Master’s degree programs in disciplines for which NET/SLET/SET accredited test is not conducted.
6. A minimum of 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) will be required at master’s level for those recruited as teachers at any level from Industries and research institutions and at the entry level of Assistant Professors, Assistant Directors of Physical Educations and Sports.
7. A relaxation of 5% may be provided at the graduate and master's level for the Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/ Differently-abled (Physically and visually differently-abled) categories for the purpose of eligibility and for assessing good academic record during direct recruitment to teaching positions. The eligibility marks of 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) and the relaxation of 5% to the categories mentioned above are permissible, based on only the qualifying marks without including any grace mark procedures.
8. A relaxation of 5% marks may be provided from 55 to 50% marks to the Ph.D. degree holder who have obtained their degree prior to 19th September, 1991 for all those positions governed by the UGC regulations.
9. The period of time taken by the candidates to acquire M.Phil. and/or Ph.D. shall not be considered as teaching/research experience to be claimed for the appointment to the teaching positions.
Consistently “Good Academic Record” would mean at least 50 % marks in Bachelor’s degree besides at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed at Master’s Level in the relevant subject.

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY THE INSTRUCTIONS MENTIONED BELOW
1. Eligible candidates from all areas in any discipline are encouraged to apply.

3. A candidate who knowingly or will-fully furnishes incorrect or false particulars or suppresses material Information, will be disqualified and if appointed will be liable to dismissal from service, without notice.
4. If the space against any item in the application form is insufficient, full particulars should be given on a sheet of paper which should be attached to the application, entering at the appropriate place a reference to the sheet attached.
5. The candidate must possess the required qualifications on the last date fixed for receipt of applications by the University.
6. Canvassing directly or indirectly will be a disqualification.
7. No application will be considered which is received after the last date of receipt of applications. Any kind of fees paid by the applicant is non-refundable and no correspondence in this respect will be entertained. Late receipt on account of postal delay will not be considered.
8. Reservation of posts are restricted to those who are proclaimed as such and in support of this, a certificate of competent authority from the Gujarat State is required to be submitted along with the application. The SC/ST candidates of the States other than Gujarat State shall be considered eligible for recruitment against the reserved posts subject to the condition that they have to produce necessary certificates from the competent authority of Gujarat State.
9. For the posts reserved for special category, candidate who does not fall under the said respective category should not apply.
10. The University reserves its right to relax the requirement of experience in case of SC/ST candidates as per the directives of the State Government.
11. If the number of candidates possessing minimum qualifications is large, the University reserves the right to short-list the candidates on the merit based criteria for the purpose of calling for interview.
12. Candidates, if called for interview, will have to come at their own expense.
13. Applicants must submit their duly filled in application in SEVEN COPIES (1 ORIGINAL & SIX PHOTO COPIES), along with copies of testimonials and certificates. Each application should be bound by tags only (without metal staples and no spiral/plastic binding).
14. The duly filled application forms enclosing demand draft in favour of The Registrar, M.S. University of Baroda, of Rs.1000/- (Rs.250/- for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe), completed in all respects along with necessary enclosures must reach the Registrar, The M. S. University of Baroda, Fatehgunj, Vadodara - 390002 on or before 23rd January, 2014.
15. In case of Offline Challan payment through Bank of Baroda branch; the bank will retain one copy of the challan and give you back the remaining two copies: one of which (original + 1 copy) you are required to send along with the printed application form, while the other is for your record.
16.The University reserves the right to fill in or not to fill in any post or to alter the number of posts in any cadre or in any / all the subjects or make any amendments.
17.Selected candidates may be posted in any Institution of the University.
18.Candidates desiring to apply for more than one post must send separate application for each post.
19.Candidate selected and appointed as Assistant Professor/Lecturer/Pradhyapak shall have to undergo during their probationary period of two years an In-service Teachers Training Programme as may be prescribed from time to time.
20. The candidate when finally appointed on the posts concerned shall have to clear the Gujarati Proficiency Test, within the period of their probation as per university rules.
21.The Pay Scales are as shown against each post. In addition the permanent posts carry D.A., H.R.A., C.L.A. and benefit of new Pension Scheme and Group Insurance Scheme as per rules.
22.Candidates already in employment in University, Educational Institutions, Government Establishments/ Organizations should send their applications through their present employers on or before the prescribed date. However, due to any unavoidable circumstances if the application through proper channel is likely to be delayed, then an advance copy must be received in the University Office on or before the due date. Persons employed after applying in response to this advertisement should bring a 'No Objection Certificate' at the time of interview from their employers.
23. Candidates must enclose the attested copies of all MARKSHEETS and Passing Certificates of examinations in which he/she passed i.e. Higher Secondary, Bachelor's/Master's Degree, Doctorate etc. In absence of the attested copies of Mark-sheets/Certificates etc., application will be considered incomplete and applicants may not be called for interview.
24.While filling up the details under item No.14 of the Application form, the candidate must state percentage of marks, division/grade and the subjects taken at various examinations.
25.A salary certificate showing Pay, D.A. and other allowances being paid by their Institution/Office/ Firm should be enclosed with the application form and also be produced at the time of interview. Whenever higher starting pay is requested, unless an authentic document/certificate showing present basic pay and details of all kinds of other allowances are produced, no request for higher starting pay would be entertained. Those candidates, who are not already in service anywhere, shall give proper reasons justifying their demand for a higher starting pay.
26.The applicant should ensure that his/her application submitted to this University either in person or by sending through post should reach the Registrar, The M. S. University of Baroda, Vadodara -390 002 on or before the last date prescribed.
27.The word "Experience" may include the experience as Temporary Lecturer/ Teaching Assistant.
28.Out of state service can be considered for award of senior scale and selection grade as per G.R. dated 11/12/1990 but this service cannot be considered for pay protection at the time of appointment and also for the benefit of pension without prior permission of Govt, of Gujarat.
29.The knowledge of English is desirable.
30.Appointed teachers may be assigned other academic or administrative responsibilities in addition to their regular teaching and research.
31.In case of any inadvertent mistake in the process of selection, which may be detected at any stage even after the issuance of appointment letter, the university reserves the right to modify/withdraw/cancel any communication made to the candidate.
32.The appointment orders will be issued subject to the receipt of No Objection Certificate from Government of Gujarat, wherever it is required.
33.Reservation of posts shall remain as per Government of Gujarat rules.
