To trace the history of Jadavpur University is to trace a part of India’s freedom movement, at least from the Swadeshi Movement onwards. It was 1905 -1906. Bengal stood divided. The times were feverish.
The hegemony of the British establishment had to be challenged. Education had to play a new role in this changed scenario. It had to become a new form of resistance through which the emergent nationalist spirit could be propagated. With this in mind the National Council of Education (NCE) came into being.

Essential Qualification
(a) M.Sc or B.E./B.Tech. degree in the respective subject with 55% marks with the NET/ GATE/ Post Graduate Degree in Professional Course
(b) PURSE Felow: M.Sc or B.E./B.Tech. degree in the respective subject with 55% marks/ NET (LS)

Remuneration:
Rs.25,000/-P.M. (HRA as admissible) for NET/ GATE/ PG (professional) candidates Rs.21,700/-P.M. (HRA as admissible) for Non-NET candidates and NET (LS)

Age: 28 years (relaxable upto 5 years in case of SC/ST/OBC/Women & Differently Abled candidates and other exception cases)

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIALISATIONS

-M.Sc. in Chemistry with required qualification
-Duty: To look after and runung the sophisticated instrument e.g. Gas Sorption And Pore size Analyzer, HRMS. X-Ray, diffractometer, Spectrophotometer etc.

Department / School: Geology (1 post)
-M. Sc. In Geology/ Applied Geology with min. 55 % marks.

Department / School: Life Sc & Bio tech (2 posts)
-M. Sc. in Life Science with min. 55% marks
(Post-1) Desirable: Experience in routine moIecular biology, classical and molecular genetics of yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae, experience in
RNA biology such as isolation and purifications of RNA nortern and qPCR analysis, confocal imaging and protein- protein and RNA-protein
interaction.
(Post-2) Desirable: Experience in Cell Culture Techniques and related Cell Biological methods, Gene knock down, site directed mutagenesis and PCR.

The University is going to recruit fourteen Research Fellows in various Science & Engineering subjects under DST-GOI funded PURSE- II Project. A walk-in interview will be held in the office of the Head of the Departments and Director of the School at Jadavpur University on 16th February 2016 at 12:00 noon for the following posts to the department/schools under the supervision of Head of the Department and Director of the School.
