Job Description:
The Scientist position distinguishes itself through research collaboration and high emphasis on new product innovations, development and analysis requirements. In addition, this position works in close collaboration with the GE Healthcare Technologies team, research sites, and clinical partners to, among other things, develop new product applications.

Essential Responsibilities:
* Developing expertise for upstream process development, operation of small scale & large scale bioprocess equipment. Understanding biopharma regulations and marketing trends to support sales department and customers with expert advice
* Working with customers in a strong collaboration environment
* Adding value to GE’s customers by identifying continuous improvement opportunities in their bio-manufacturing processes and designing and implementing innovative process enhancement
* Leadership in area of expertise to move projects forward
* Designing, developing and delivering training courses, theoretical as well as practical, in the field of biomanufacturing
* To host/train Customers (internal/external)
* To maintain accurate and complete records of all work, and report to customer and management in oral and written manner
* Conducting independent scientific application work on key projects (Monoclonal Antibodies (MAb's), vaccines, recombinant proteins, plasma fractionation)
* Developing and maintaining relationships with the regional commercial and marketing teams, as well as the global Fast Trak and R&D organizations


Qualifications/Requirements:
* M.Sc degree in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical engineering or related Life Sciences field
* 6+ years industrial experience in microbial fermentation and cell culture, bioprocess development, scale-up, tech transfer or manufacturing.

Candidate Profile
* MS/PhD Degree in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Physics, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related Life Sciences field
* + 4-6 years of Vaccine, MAb plasma, recombinant protein manufacturing and/or process development experience
* Strong industrial experience in purification of biomolecules (upstream, downstream, technology transfer, validation, process development, biomanufacturing)
* Working knowledge of FDA/EMEA /Local regulations for biologics (Phase I-III manufacture)
* Prior teaching and/or presenting scientific material experience would be highly desirable
* Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative, matrixed, and customer focused environment
* Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain relationship with co-workers
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* Demonstrated good presentation skills
