Maharshi Dayanand University, ab initio established as Rohtak University, Rohtak, came into existence by an Act No. 25 of 1975 of the Haryana Legislative Assembly in 1976 with the objective to promote inter-disciplinary higher education and research in the fields of environmental, ecological and life sciences. It was rechristened as Maharshi Dayanand University in 1977 after the name of a great visionary and social reformer, Maharshi Dayanand. It had a unitary and residential character in its nascent stage, but became an affiliating University in November 1978. The University secured the recognition of University Grants Commission – the higher education regulatory body of India - for central Govt. grants in Feb. 1983.
Post: UGC-BSR Research Fellowships
The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, M. D. University will be holding Walk-in-Interview for the University Grants Commission awarded UGC-BSR Research Fellowships for the academic session 2014-15 with the purpose of providing opportunities to meritorious students to undertake research leading to Ph.D. degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences.
Scholarship Details:
Tenure: The tenure of fellowship is initially for two years extendable for a further period of three years on the basis of the research work of the first two years.
Nature of Assistance:
Fellowship and HRA as per UGC rules
Total No. of fellowships: 05 (Five) under UGC-BSR.
Eligibility Criteria: Qualified M.Pharm. Candidates who are eligible for registration to Ph.D. Programme (Candidates who qualified pre Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from MDU / who are pursuing PhD course work in Pharmaceutical Sciences at MDU) in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak can apply.
Other conditions: As per UGC Rules Cancellation of award of fellowship: Fellowship is liable to cancellation in case of
i) Misconduct,
ii) Unsatisfactory progress of research work/failure in any examination related to Ph.D. or
iii) Fellow is found ineligible later.
