Application are invited for Junior Research Fellow, Technical Assistant in School of Life Sciences, Jawaharlal Nehru University

The JNU campus is a microcosm of the Indian nation, drawing students from every nook and corner of the country and from every group and stratum of society. To make sure that this is so, annual admission tests are simultaneously held at 37 centres spread across the length and breadth of the country, and special care is taken to draw students from the underprivileged castes and ethic groups by reserving 22.5 per cent of seats for them. Overseas students form some 10 percent of the annual intake. Students' hostels and blocks of faculty residences are interspersed with one another, underlining the vision of a large Indian family.

Junior Research Fellow(One)
Project: "Genetic manipulation of Siroheme Biosynthesis to increase Nitrogen, Sulphur and Carbon efficiency of plants".
Salary: As per DST rules and guidelines for JRF.
Essential Qualifications: Post Graduate Degree in Life Sciences/ Biochemistry/ Biotechnology. Preference will be given to CSIR/ UGC/ JRF or NET or GATE qualified candidates. However, Non- NET qualified candidates can also apply; salary of such candidates will be paid as per old scale following DST norms.

Technical assistant (one)
Project: "Genetic manipulation of Siroheme Biosynthesis to increase Nitrogen, Sulphur and Carbon efficiency of plants".
Salary:10000/- per month fixed for Technical assistant.
Essential Qualifications: Post Graduate Degree in Life Sciences/ Biochemistry/ Biotechnology.

The competent authority may select candidate in the lower position against the above post depending upon the qualifications and experience of the candidate and reserves the right to relax any of the qualification(s) in case the candidate is found otherwise well qualified by the Selection Committee.
