Perrigo is a leading global healthcare supplier that develops, manufactures, markets and distributes over-the- counter (OTC) products, prescription pharmaceuticals, nutritional products, active pharmaceutical ingredients (API) and consumer healthcare products.

Post: Head of India–Global Supply Chain Operation Support

Job Description
The position will lead and manage in-country sourcing, technical and quality compliance activities and technical affairs for API’s, finished drug products and other materials sourced from India for export to other Perrigo entities, including Perrigo US, UK, Australia and Mexico .

Major Duties / Responsibilities


  • Supplier relationship building and partnership maintenance: Foster and develop relationships with key business and compliance leaders at external manufacturing sites and suppliers to ensure alignment of key business, quality and compliance objectives to Perrigo’s Global strategic direction and local BU expectations. This includes regular visits of to key partners to manage continuous improvement activities.
  • Business/Supplier Development: Works with regional Perrigo Business Development and Global Supply Chain on the identification and selection of new partners in India in alignment with the Global Supply Chain strategy.
  • Strategy/Prioritization: Partners with peers in regional Perrigo Supply Chains across the globe in order to develop strategies, manage performance, capacity availability and operational prioritization within the Indian supply base.
  • Staff Development: Works with procurement, technical and quality/compliance staff on business, technical, and relational competency development and succession planning.
  • Issue Resolution: Ensures escalated events relative to compliance or supply gaps are properly resourced, prioritized and managed in order to protect service and supply. Helps supports cost price management in order to maintain lowest cost supply.
  • Ethical and Social compliance: Issues that are to be referred to regional/site Supply Chain or Quality leads include recommendations that require immediate supplier remediation to maintain approved status, to terminate work with a specific manufacturing site.

Required Skills

  • Strong analytical, commanding oral and written communication and strong interpersonal skills are a must.
  • Bi-lingual skills are required.
  • The incumbent must demonstrate the ability to work independently against multiple deadlines, be able to effectively prioritise and handle complex and often pressurized situations with balance and also provide subject matter expertise to both the global and local organizations relative to the Indian supply chain.
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, management and team building skills are required.

Required Experience
A minimum of 10 years experience in Supply Chain or Quality/Compliance in the pharmaceutical industry with significant senior managerial experience is recommended. Direct experience with pharmaceuticals for the Australian, European, or United States markets is highly preferred.
