Acharya Institutes, established in 1990, comprises of 11 Educational Institutions, 7 Research Centres and 6 exclusive hostels for Boys/Girls in a sprawling 120-acre campus nestled in a green environment in the outskirts of Bangalore city. We offer over 90 Programmes to over 9000+ Students. There are students from over 30 countries. The institutes have over 850 Technical & Administrative Staff. The constituent institutes are affiliated to 3 Universities and recognised by 6 Statutory Bodies.

Computer-aided drug design has an extensive impact in the area of drug design. It is used to discover, design and optimize new, effective and safe drugs. This is an ever growing effort to the combination of chemical and biological space to streamline design, development and optimize drug discovery process. In silico methods facilitate target identification, structure prediction and lead/drug discovery. The computational methods expect more reliable and expeditious protocols for development of novel ideas, which increase the potential leads. The computer-assisted molecular design has succeeded in the QSAR and protein modeling algorithms to improve activity of lead compounds.

The Faculty Development Programme intends to provide a platform for making the young faculty members of Pharmacy colleges aware about the various aspects of Drug Design and its techniques used in Industry and training on drug design software. This Programme aims in providing theoretical and practical background on computer-aided drug design and giving an overview of recent developments, applications and trends. This two week long programme hopes to bring together an array of eminent academic and industrial scientists in this field.

Acharya & BM Reddy College of Pharmacy
Acharya & B.M. Reddy College of Pharmacy was founded in the year 1992. The College is affiliated to the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, approved by the All India Council for Technical Education and Pharmacy Council of India, and accredited by NBA and NAAC. The college was recently awarded the coveted status of Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (SIRO) by the Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India. The college offers a wide range of programmes in Pharmacy - Diploma in Pharmacy, Bachelor of Pharmacy, Pharm D, six specialisations in Master of Pharmacy and Doctoral Studies leading to Ph.D

Objectives of the Program
• To create exposure and promote awareness among young teachers about development of new chemical entities (NCEs) by in silico methods, who in turn train the students' community.
• To provide opportunity to learn theoretical and practical aspects of computer aided drug design like molecular docking & simulation, molecular dynamics, ligand- & structure based drug design, pharmacophore modeling, QSAR etc.
• To provide hands-on practical training on commercial drug design softwares.
• To bring together scientists, researchers, teachers from academic and corporate companies to share their research experiences in the field of molecular modeling and drug design.
