Defence Institute of Bio-Energy Research (DIBER) (formely Defence Agricultural research Laboratory, DARL) is engaged in R&D on Biofuel crops and Bio-diesel for Defence use.Bio-resource conservation, improvement and its judicious utilization and Bioenergy-products from Himalayan Herbs. The laboratory is located at Haldwani, District- Nainital (Uttarakhand).

Following Fellowships are available initially for a period of two years (extendable as per rules), at a monthly stipend of Rs. 25,000/- per month for Junior Research Fellow (JRF) and Rs. 40,000/- per month for Research Associate (RA) (House Rent Allowance is also admissible as per rules). The Indian Pharmaceutical Association (IPA) strongly opposes the ideas which arise through some recent news indicates that there have been discussion regarding enabling the unqualified persons to be "pharmacists" by initiating some training courses. IPA firmly stated that medical stores/pharmacies should be run only in presence and under supervision of qualified, registered pharmacists.
