Pharmacovigiliance Skill Development Programme Organized by Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission
Pharmacovigilance (PV) is a science that relates to detection, assessment, understanding and prevention of adverse effects or any other drug-related problem. To track Adverse Drug Reactions (ADRs) in Indian Population, MoHFW, Gol, launched Pharmacovigilance Programme of India (PvPI). This programme has an outreach all over the country but only small proportion of health care professionals have formal training on Pharmacovigilance. Following recent amendments in D & C Rules 1945, and order from MoHFW to all states/UTs Government, the avenues in Pharmacovigilance sector have widened and it has become a priority area. For the accomplishment of Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY), I PC has taken up skill development and capacity building programme by imparting training to the young professionals in the field of Pharmacovigilance
