Applications are invited for Junior Research Fellow at Institute of Chemical Technology

Established on October 1, 1933 as University Department of Chemical Technology (popularly called UDCT) of the University of Bombay (now Mumbai), with the noble intention of advancing India's knowledge reserves in chemical science and technology, the Institute has grown to become a premier (deemed) university devoted to education, training, research and industrial collaboration in chemical engineering, chemical technology, applied chemistry, pharmacy, biotechnology and bio-processing.

Post : Junior Research Fellow (JRF) - 01 Post

Applications are invited for the post of Junior Research Fellow (Build R-3)

Project Title : Bio-based Manufacturing for Chemicals, Institute of Chemical Technology (formerly UDCT), Matunga (E), Mumbai (Level II)
Project sub-topic : Microbial production of anthraquinone base red pigment and its applications to produce luminogen, textile dye and food colorant
Sponsor : Department of Biotechnology, GOI
Principal Investigator : Prof. A.B. Pandit
Project Duration : Five years
Qualification :  M.Sc / M.Tech in Biotechnology, Bioprocess Technology, Chemistry, Textile Chemistry
Experience : Candidates with experience in organic synthesis or candidates with organic chemistry background with keen interest in multidisciplinary research.
Remuneration : Rs. 31,000/- + 24% HRA

The project fellow will be appointed initially for a period of one year and "the tenure may be extended till the end of the project depending on the candidate's performance.
