The Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI) is the country's premier national Institute for agricultural research, education and extension. It has served the cause of science and society with distinction through first rate research, generation of appropriate technologies and development of human resources. In fact, the Green Revolution was born in the fields of IARI and our graduates constitute the core of the quality human resource in India's agricultural research and education.
The Institute has all along been adjusting and improving its policies, plans and programmes to effectively respond to the needs and opportunities of the nation. During the fifties, the advancement of scientific disciplines constituted the core programme and provided the base for its fast expansion in the 1960's and 1970's in all its three interactive areas, namely, research, education and extension. Besides basic research, applied and commodity research gained great importance resulting in the development of several popular high yielding varieties of almost all major crops and their associated management technologies, which brought about an unprecedented increase in the national food and agricultural production.

The Head, Division of Genetics, IARI, New Delhi intends to recruit the outstanding personnel for post of Junior Research Fellow in the following DBT funded projects purely on contractual basis. Details of the position are given below:

Qualification
Essential: M.Sc. in Genetics and/or Plant Breeding/ Plant Molecular Biology and Biotechnology / Biotechnology / Botany/ Life sciences (plant) / Biochemistry

Desirable: Experience in molecular marker analysis as evidenced by thesis work or publications or work experience

*Note: In case selected candidate is having two years of experience in the relevant field, he/she will be granted the remuneration of Rs. 18000/- plus HRA per month with designation of SRF

Age limit: Maximum age 35 years for SRF/JRF (age relaxation of five years for SC/ST & women and three years for OBC).

The posts are purely temporary and will be filled on contractual basis initially up to March 2012, but may be extended further based on the performance of the candidate or till the termination of the project whichever is earlier. The candidate shall not claim regular appointment at this Institute, as the post is co-terminus with the project. The interview of eligible candidates will be held on 03 November, 2011 at 10.00 A.M. in the chamber of Head, Division of Genetics, IARI, New Delhi 110012. The candidates will have to bring a copy of bio-data (signed) clearly indicating the per cent marks obtained from matriculation/10th onwards, original certificates, and self-attested photocopies of all the required certificates from matriculation onwards and an attested copy of recent passport size photograph. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview. Only the candidates having essential qualifications would be entertained for the interview. It may be noted that M.Sc. degree certificate either original or provisional is essential to be brought while attending the interview.

The candidate intending to visit for interview, if any of his near or distant relative is an employee of the ICAR/IARI, have to declare and send details of his/her name, designation, nature of duties, relationship in writing so as to reach by 31st October, 2011. If on the date of interview such declaration is furnished and found that his relative is an employee of ICAR/IARI, such candidate will not be allowed for interview. All other candidates are also required compulsorily to furnish the declaration duly signed in the format annexed and submit on the date of interview.
