Job Description:
Areas of Responsibility
The Plant Head will have the following key responsibilities:

  • Conduct short-term and long-term planning for the plant based on the business plan; Assess and finalise the improvement requirements with respect to automation, resources etc. along with regional head; Prepare the capex budget, operational budget and capacity augmentation plan; Conduct manpower planning for the plant;
  • Prepare and control annual revenue budgets for the plant functionsAssess and prevent resource (manpower, material, machine) constraints through proactive actions; Follow up for all critical issues and escalation related to manufacturing e.g. breakdown of critical machines; Drive adherence to customer service levels at plant; Monitor aging of the inventory; Drive quality adherence at plant
  • Assess the plant upkeep through periodic review for all time readiness and provide required update to the management; Guide the team during project transfer/technology transfer from other manufacturing units; Conduct regular review meetings with the teams; Co-ordinate with CMUs for planning, execution and delivery
  • Review the improvement initiatives prepared by Production Head and implement the improvement initiatives based on inputs from different teams such as R&D, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, SCM, TSD within the defined timelines; Drive process improvement (through automation, where feasible) to achieve yield and quality consistency, solvent recovery and productivity enhancement; Reduce OOS events and market complaints at plant to ensure adherenc
  • Check compliance of all departments at plant with respect to regulatory, legal and safety guidelines; Participate in compliance review of all functions; Track and control quality by monitoring compliance to quality management systems; Review and approve documentations related to change controls, deviations, incidents, OOS; Interact with auditors during regulatory audits and explain processes and documentations related to products; Justify manufacturing processes with technical documentation during various external audits
  • Facilitate transfer of robust process for commercialization of products in co-ordination with TSD and R&D team; Identify the updated process for product launches in collaboration with regulatory clearance; Drive plant readiness (resources, plan with 30% upside capacity) for product launch without affecting manufacturing of other products
  • Identify, prioritise and deploy action items for competency development in the team;  Engage with employees; Direct and guide team on departmental issues; Identify, groom, reward and develop high performers and future leaders; Resolve escalated conflicts and grievances; Set clear and objective goals and key responsibilities for the team; Identify training needs and impart on-job training
  • Reduce OT within permissible limits

Qualifications
Education:
FDF: Post graduate in pharmacy

Experience:
Minimum 15 years of experience Pharma industry with exposure in regulated environment

Competencies:
-Knowledge of best in class production processes and unit operations in FDF
-Knowledge of process chemistry and technology
-Knowledge of best in class quality guidelines and systems
-Knowledge of regulatory guidelines
-Knowledge statutory requirement for FDF
