The institute has evolved over the years into a multi-disciplinary research organization with stress on fundamental research in its pursuit of advancement of knowledge in Science and technology and at the same time developing highly competent and able scientific manpower for the country. The institute has on its staff highly qualified and experienced scientists working in the field of Biological, biochemical, Chemical and Physical sciences placed in long established departments of Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Microbiology, Biochemistry, and Biophysics, and the research sections on plant Molecular & Cellular Genetics, Animal Physiology, Immunotechnology and Environmental science.

Essential Qualification : First Class M.Sc. or M.Pharm degree with GATE / GPAT.
Desirable Qualification: Knowledge of Computer techniques like molecular modeling, Molecular Dynamics with programming language is a prerequisite. Work experience on Linux platform is a must.
Fellowship: @ Rs.5,000/-p.m. (Consolidated) for six months only.
Age: Below 28 years (relaxable in case of SC/ST/OBC/WOMEN candidates only, as per rule).

Scheme VII-M, Kankurgachi, Kolkata – 700 054, for one position of Project Fellow in the ongoing project entitled, "Sequence specific unfolding of G-Quadruplex structures", under Dr. Subhrangsu Chatterjee, Ramanujan Fellow of DST, Department of Biophysics. The position is tenable initially for six months only. Details of qualification, fellowship, age etc. are as follows.
