Applications are invited from young and meritorious Indian citizens for filling up one position of JRF funded by the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Govt. of India. The current project ongoing draw from recent high throughput-drug discovery campaigns, “Antifolate hit-to-lead optimization for PfDHFR-TS inhibition”.
The selected candidate would be eligible to pursue full time research degree (PhD) program provided if he/she fulfils minimum standards and procedure for the award of PhD degree, as laid down in the UGC regulations, 2009.

Post: Junior Research Fellow

Eligibility: Candidate should have first class 60% marks (55% marks in case of SC/ST/PH category) or equivalent cGPA/ CPI in-
1. Master or equivalent degree in Pharmacy or relevant professional courses, M. S. (Pharm.)/ M. Pharm./ M. Tech. (Biotech.) etc. OR
2. Master or equivalent degree in relevant basic sciences along with NET/ BET/ BINC or equivalent qualifications.

Term of employment: The appointment is on contract basis initially for a period of 1 year and extendable to 3 years or/ coterminous with the project whichever is earlier, depending on Annual Performance Review.

Age limit: The applicants should be below the age of 28 years for General category as on today 04-06-2013. As per Govt. rules, 5 years relaxation in age is admissible for the candidates belonging to SC/ST/ Women/ Physically Handicapped and 3 years relaxation in case of OBC candidates.

emoluments: As establish by the DBT, (i) Rs. 16,000 + 10%HRA (for GPAT/ GATE/ NET/ BET/ BINC qualified candidates); (ii) Rs. 12,000 + 10%HRA (In case of other candidates).

Desirables:
1. A candidate with consistently good academic records, First class throughout academics along with GPAT/ GATE/ NET/ BET/ BINC or equivalent qualifications may be preferred.
2. Knowledge of Ligand-Receptor Interactions.

Job requirement: Molecular docking of a library containing small ligands against crystal structures from wild and mutant types of bifunctional DHFR-TS target of Plasmodium falciparum.
