An Associate Institute of the University of Hyderabad, the Institute of Life Sciences (ILS) is a not-for-profit institute that aims to conduct innovative research in unifying areas of chemistry, biology and chemical biology. Our goal is to create and foster a research culture where chemists and biologists work together to generate original ideas, and generate experimental data which can lead to novel therapies for human disease and an improvement in quality of life. Applications are invited for the Senior Research Fellowship position in a DST funded project.
Post: Senior Research Fellow
Emoluments: Rs. 20,800- 23,400 based on merit and experience.
Essential Qualifications:
1. M.Sc. in Organic Chemistry from a recognized university/institute with minimum 2 years of experience. Preference will be given to candidates with CSIR-NET/ GATE qualification/ those having publications.
Please Note: Candidates with fresh M.Sc degree need not apply.
2. The proposed work involves synthesis of biologically relevant drug-like scaffolds using new synthetic methodologies
3. Therefore the candidate is expected to have in-depth knowledge and skill in organic synthesis, reagents, reaction mechanisms etc and adequate experience in analyzing spectral data.
4. The candidate should be willing to work in a team environment
Duration: One year only
No claim shall be made by the candidate for the extrapolation of this work into PhD program now or later.
