Job Description:
Job Summary:
This position is responsible for the procurement activities at EPM as well as to support Global procurement. Responsibility includes consolidation of spend fare and identification of procurement opportunities to maximize the value generation for the organization. Apart from these, the Global procurement strategy shall focus development of quality sources at a competitive price and also ensure stable and uninterrupted supplies of materials at a Global level.

•Responsible for managing and execution of all the Procurement activities at EPM for Drug product, Drug facility and R&D projects.
•Development and implementation of Global Procurement guidelines that shall include the Global Procurement strategy and templates.
•Develop and implement global supplier selection strategy including spend analysis, vendor identification, selection and as-assessments, consolidation of spend base.
•Implementation of effective negotiation strategies for Global Procurement activities within the given budget and timelines conformance to quality thereby ensuring substantial savings on the spend exercised.
•Develop and institutionalize a model for make vs buy decision to facilitate business decisions. To co-ordinate with R&D for developing a logical model based upon cost and resources to support Make vs buy.
•Development of alternate vendors for risk mitigation and maintaining the stable supply base.
•Assessment of vendor performance data on various performance metrics for sustainable supply and cost improvement. Implementation of vendor assessment results for continuous evaluation of selected sources.
•Identify new vendors and outsourcing opportunities as per the quality, cost, delivery, statutory, regulatory and value fit with the organization policies.
•Development and management of CROs and CMOs for R&D projects. Continous tracking of CMO projects to ensure timely completion and cost savings.
•Development of the RACI matrix (Responsibility, Accountability, Consulting & Informing) for CMO/CRO’s.

Candidate Profile:
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Required:

  • Graduate/Post Graduate degree in Science/Commerce with minimum of 10-15 years procurement experience in the Pharmaceutical or similar environment with international experience, out of which minimum of 7-8 years at managerial level.
  • Proven people management skills with the ability to effectively manage and motivate teams; review and establish goals and assessment of employees within company policies and procedures.
  • Excellent spoken & written communications and organizational skills with the ability to co-ordinate and implement team projects.
  • Proven negotiations skills and Decision making.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and apply results to resolve issues.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects concurrently.
  • Working knowledge on word-processing and spreadsheet applications; Microsoft Word and Excel experience preferred. SAP Knowledge is mandatory
