Mergers and acquisitions are very common in Pharmaceutical Industry. They merge or acquire to grow in market. In past, there are number of such occasions. But Merger deal between pharma giants like Ranbaxy and Sun Pharmaceuticals is something special in India because here we rarely came across such big pharma deals.
Both of them join together to make fifth largest generic pharmaceutical company of world. It’s aching that slowly brand like Ranbaxy will die apart from that it is moment of happiness that rise of new Sun in country. Still Ranbaxy will reminisce for long time in mind of every related professionals.
Also, it is a time to focus on research more vigorously. Numbers of drug resistance cases are increasing day by day. Many drugs fail in clinical research which breaks enthusiasm of companies towards research. As per Union Minister for Science and Technology Harsh Vardhan, the Indian pharmaceutical sector would soon be showcasing new drugs for malaria, osteoporosis and diabetes which are currently undergoing clinical trials. Hope for positive results of these indigenous trials!
