Pharmacists Recruitment : 28 posts in Government Veterinary Hospitals

Under the Department of Animal Husbandry, Uttarakhand, applications are invited from candidates possessing the prescribed qualifications/eligibility for selection to the vacant posts of Veterinary Pharmacy Officer in government veterinary hospitals, in the format given below.

Post : Veterinary Pharmacy Officer (Pharmacist)

No of posts : 28 (UR-22, SC-02, OBC-02, EWS-02)
Pay Scale : Pay Level-6 (₹35,400–₹1,12,400)

Educational Qualifications
(a) The candidate must have passed the Intermediate examination with Science subjects from the Uttarakhand Board of School Education and Examination or the Uttar Pradesh Board of Secondary Education, or possess any other qualification recognized by the Government as equivalent.
In addition, the candidate must have completed a Diploma in Pharmacy (Allopathy). Pharmacy qualifications obtained before the Pharmacy Council of India’s Education Regulation, 1991, as amended by the Education Regulation Amendment 1994, came into force in the State of Uttarakhand will also be considered eligible.
(b) The candidate must hold a Diploma in Pharmacy (Allopathy) from a recognized institution.

Essential Conditions
For applying, the candidate must also fulfill the following conditions:
(a) At the time of application, the candidate must be registered with the Uttarakhand Pharmacy Council.
(b) At the time of application, the candidate must be registered with an Employment Exchange (Sewa Yojan office) located in the State of Uttarakhand.
(c) The candidate must be eligible to apply if they have passed High School and Intermediate (or equivalent-level education) from recognized institutions located in the State of Uttarakhand.
However :
Persons who are :
• serving in the Army/Paramilitary Forces;
• regularly appointed to regular posts under the State Government or an institution established under it;
• regularly appointed to posts under the Central Government and currently working in Uttarakhand, where their services cannot be transferred outside Uttarakhand; or
• the husband/wife of such a person,
and their son/daughter, will also be eligible to apply for selection to Group ‘C’ direct recruitment posts under the State Government.

Preference / Priority
When all other conditions are equal, preference will be given in direct recruitment to candidates who:
(a) Have obtained the “B Certificate” of the National Cadet Corps (NCC); or
(b) Have a minimum of 2 years of service experience in the Territorial Army.
If the candidates are still equal in terms of preference, then the candidate who is older in age will be placed higher in the merit list.

Reservation
(a) Vertical Reservation
Candidates belonging to the following categories will receive the benefit of vertical reservation as per the Government Orders/rules of the Uttarakhand Government:
Scheduled Caste (SC)
Scheduled Tribe (ST)
Other Backward Classes (OBC)
Economically Weaker Section (EWS)
(b) Horizontal Reservation
The benefit of horizontal reservation will be provided at the time of appointment in accordance with the Government Orders currently applicable in Uttarakhand.
For claiming reservation, the candidate must attach a certified photocopy of the relevant category certificate, issued by the competent authority.

Nationality
The candidate must satisfy one of the following conditions:
(a) The candidate is a citizen of India; or
(b) The candidate is a Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1 January 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India; or
(c) The candidate is a person of Indian origin who has migrated to India with the intention of permanently settling here from Pakistan, Burma (Myanmar), Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uganda, or the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar).
However, candidates falling under categories (b) or (c) must be persons in whose favour the State Government has issued a certificate of eligibility.
For candidates under category (b), they will be required to obtain the eligibility certificate from the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Intelligence Branch, Uttarakhand.
For candidates under category (c), the eligibility certificate will not be issued for a period exceeding one year. Such candidates may be permitted to continue in service beyond one year only on the condition that they obtain Indian citizenship.

Age
As of 1 July 2026, the candidate must:
Be at least 18 years old, and
Be not more than 42 years old.
Candidates belonging to reserved categories in Uttarakhand will receive relaxation in the maximum age limit as per the applicable rules.

Character
For direct recruitment to any post in government service, the candidate's character must be such that they are suitable in all respects for employment in government service.

Note : A person who has been dismissed from service by :
the Central Government,
a State Government,
a Union Territory Government, or
any local authority/body owned or controlled by a State Government, will not be eligible for appointment to any post in government service.

Similarly, a person who has been convicted of an offence involving moral turpitude will also not be eligible for appointment.

Marital Status
For appointment to any post in government service:
• A male candidate who has more than one living wife will not be eligible.
• A female candidate who has married a man whose previous wife is still living will not be eligible.

Physical and Mental Fitness
A candidate will be appointed to a post in government service only if they:
• are mentally and physically fit, and
• are free from any physical defect that could interfere with the efficient performance of their duties.
After being selected, the candidate must obtain and submit a medical fitness certificate in the prescribed format from the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) or an equivalent medical officer.

Application Fee
SC / ST / Economically Weaker Section (EWS) candidates of Uttarakhand : ₹150
General / Other Backward Classes (OBC) candidates : ₹300
The fee must be deposited online through the IFMS Portal (e-Challan) into the departmental revenue head:

A verified copy of the challan must be attached with the application form.

The application must reach the office by 12 September 2026, up to 5:00 PM.
• Applications received through any other means will not be accepted.
• Applications received after the specified date/time will not be accepted.
• On the top of the application envelope, candidates must clearly write:
“Application Form for the Post of Veterinary Pharmacy Officer”

Selection of Candidates
Selection will be conducted according to the provisions of:
• Uttarakhand Veterinary Pharmacist Service Rules, 2010, and
• Uttarakhand Veterinary Pharmacist Service (Amendment) Rules, 2011.

According to these provisions
• The Selection Committee will prepare a merit list based on the marks obtained by eligible candidates in the qualifying examination.
• A category-wise merit list will be prepared based on the marks obtained.
• After the merit list of the previous year is completely exhausted, selection will begin from the merit list of the subsequent year.
• This process will continue until all the advertised vacancies are filled.

General Instructions
(1) The application must be made on A4-size paper. The application form can also be downloaded from the website of the Department of Animal Husbandry, Uttarakhand: animalhusbandry.uk.gov.in
If the application form is submitted incomplete, unclear, or with blurred/illegible documents, or if any required attachment is found to be incorrect/incomplete, the application will be rejected.
(2) A recent certified passport-size photograph must be affixed to the application form. Otherwise, the application will be rejected.
(3) The applicant must attach certified photocopies of:
• Certificates relating to their educational/technical qualifications and all mark sheets,
• Documents supporting preference/priority eligibility,
• Date of birth proof,
• Reservation/category certificates, and
• Certificates proving registration with the Uttarakhand Pharmacy Council and registration with an Employment Exchange office in Uttarakhand.
(4) A valid certificate of registration with the Uttarakhand Pharmacy Council must be attached with the application. Even if the registration is under renewal, the date of the renewal application must be valid/current. A certified photocopy of the registration certificate must be attached, and the registration number and date must be clearly mentioned in the application. Otherwise, the application will be rejected.
(5) Applicants must attach a certified photocopy of a valid certificate showing registration with an Employment Exchange office located in Uttarakhand. Even in the case of renewal, the date of the renewal application must be valid. The name of the Employment Exchange office and registration number must be clearly mentioned in the application. Otherwise, the application will be rejected.
(6) All certificates submitted by the candidate must be valid as of the last date for submission of the application.
(7) Candidates who are already employed in government service must send their application through the proper channel. They must also attach a No Objection Certificate (NOC) issued by the competent appointing authority along with the application.
(8) The decision regarding the candidate's eligibility/qualification will be final and binding as decided by the Director, Department of Animal Husbandry, Uttarakhand.
