Pharma, Life Sciences, Microbiology, Biotechnology Fellowships under Centre of Excellence, NIPER

The National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education & Research (NIPER), SAS Nagar is an autonomous institute of National importance set up by the Government of India, under the Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers by an Act of Parliament, to impart higher education and undertake advanced research in the field of pharmaceutical sciences, technology and management. The Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Government of India has launched the Scheme for "Promotion of Research and Innovation in Pharma MedTech sector (PRIP)" with the goal of transforming India into a global powerhouse for R&D in the Pharma MedTech sector.

The Institute is looking for dynamic, result oriented and experienced professionals for the following temporary positions under Centre of Excellence (CoE) initially for a period of one (01) year which may be extended on case-to-case basis depending upon the job/specific requirement and performance of the individuals.

Scientific Coordinator (CoE-C2) 01 post
Upper age limit : 40 years
Remunerations* (Fixed) : Rs. 58,000/- pm
Essential Qualification : Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences/ Life Science/ Microbiology/ Biotechnology with relevant experience
Research experience in handling BSL2/3 bacterial pathogens and drug screening/ Molecular Biology/ diagnostic assay development/ Protein Purification/ molecular recognition element (aptamers, antibodies, and nanobodies development).
Job Responsibilities : Candidate will be actively involved in the antibacterial drug discovery work (screening the synthetic compounds, natural products and biologics). He/she will also be responsible for diagnostic assay development work. Additionally, candidate will be responsible for data management and report preparation.

Scientific Coordinator (CoE-C3) 01 post
Upper age limit : 40 years
Remunerations* (Fixed) : Rs. 58,000/- pm
Essential Qualification : Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences/ Life Science/ Chemical Science/ Microbiology/Biotechnology with relevant experience. Or M.Sc. Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biochemistry or related discipline with 5 years of experience
Desirable Qualification : Research experience in molecular biology, or protein chemistry, or cell culture, or BSL2/BSL3 pathogen handling.
Job Responsibilities : Candidate will be actively involved in the antiviral drug discovery and development. He/she will also be responsible for antiviral assay development work. Additionally, candidate will be responsible for data management and report preparation.

Sr. Research Fellow (CoE-SRF-5) 01 post
Upper age limit : 37 years
Remunerations* (Fixed) : Rs. 42,000/- pm
Essential Qualification : M. Pharm. / M.S.(Pharm.) / M.Tech. in Pharmaceutical Sciences / Life Science / Biotechnology / Pharmacology & Toxicology or equivalent or M.Sc. Biotechnology / Medical Microbiology / Microbiology or equivalent with two years of relevant experience.
Desirable Qualification : 2-year Research experience in molecular biology, or protein chemistry, or cell culture, or BSL2 / BSL3 pathogen handling. Desirable : Anti-viral Assay development, virus culture and maintenance.
Job Responsibilities : Candidate will be actively involved in the antiviral drug discovery and development. He/she will also be responsible for antiviral assay development work.

General Information
1. The positions are purely on temporary basis initially for a period of one (01) year which may be extended for other term(s) on case-to-case basis depending upon the job/specific requirement and performance of the individuals.
2. Only eligible Indian nationals having proven track record, command, expertise and deep knowledge in the respective area may appear for Walk-in-Interview.
3. The engagement will not establish any right/claim for regularization/absorption against any vacant post in the Institute.
4. The candidate(s) who fulfil the eligibility criteria may appear for a walk-in- interview/online interview along with the application form to be held on 12.10.2026 (Monday) from 02:00 pm onwards at Conference Room, Secretariat Building, NIPER-SAS Nagar – 160062 (Punjab). The duly filled application form must be submitted at the time of the registration by 02:00 pm at Recruitment Cell. The candidates must ascertain their eligibility before coming for Walk-in- Interview, as ineligible candidates would not be interviewed.
5. The application form can be downloaded from the Institute’s website.
6. The selection will be based on the performance of the candidate in interview.
7. The candidate(s) attending the interview must fulfil the eligibility criteria and should bring attested copies of testimonials / degrees / certificates in support of the averments made in the qualification & experience etc. along with Demand Draft of requisite application fee, if applicable, as mentioned at point No. 11 below.
8. The candidature will be considered as invalid, ab-initio, in case he/she does not fulfil the eligibility criteria. Candidate should satisfy himself/herself regarding the possession of required qualification, age, experience, etc., as stipulated above, before appearing in interview.
9. Candidates with incomplete application or without relevant supporting enclosures i.e. self- attested copies of degree/certificates/marks sheets/experience certificate/reprint of important publications (if any), without photographs, signatures, and prescribed fee will not be allowed to appear in Walk-in-Interview
10. Candidates shall have to produce original documents/testimonials at the time of the interview, failing which, such candidates shall not be allowed for interview. The original certificates/degrees etc. of the candidate(s) are subject to verification before joining, in case of selection.

11. The application fee as detailed below is required to be submitted at the time of the interview in the form of a Demand Draft in favour of ‘Director, NIPER-SAS Nagar’ payable at SAS Nagar (Mohali)/Chandigarh:
i. Application fee for General and OBC category candidates : Rs. 500/-
ii. Application fee for SC/ST/PWD/female candidates : NIL
12. 13. Age relaxation for SC / ST / OBC / PwBD etc. will be as per the Government of India rules. The candidates are required to attach valid proof for claiming relaxation as per the guidelines prescribed by the Government of India from time to time.

15. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the Walk-in-Interview.
16. The Institute reserves the right to withdraw advertised position at any time without assigning any reason. Institute also reserves the right to fill or not to fill position and its decision in this regard shall be final.
