BRIC-National Agri-Food and Biomanufacturing Institute (BRIC-NABI) is an autonomous Institute under the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India. BRIC-NABI aims at catalysing the transformation of the Agri- food sector in India by being a nodal organization for knowledge generation and translational science leading to value-added products based on Agri-Food biotech innovations for improved household nutritional security. Since its inception in 2010, BRIC-NABI is involved in research activities for Bio-fortification, the development of designer crops for improved nutrition, providing sustainable and novel solutions for quality food and nutrition, and the development of evidence-based functional foods to counter malnutrition. The food and nutritional Biotechnology division at BRIC-NABI requires the following research personnel purely on a temporary basis.

Research Associate-I
Project Title: “Genome editing in hexaploid wheat for trait improvement” (EP-09)

Position: Research Associate-1 (One)
Duration: The position is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project. If subjected to satisfactory performance and availability of funds, the extension after the initial appointment shall be for one year and shall be subject to evaluation and may have yearly extension for another two years.
Essential Qualification: Ph.D. in any branch of Life Sciences or Biotechnology with at least two peer-reviewed international publications in Science Citation Indexed (SCI) journal.
Desirable Experience:
1. We seek an enthusiastic and highly motivated candidate who is interested in genome editing of crop plants.
2. Research experience in molecular biology related techniques including recombinant DNA cloning techniques, plant transformation, tissue culture and genome editing.
3. Research experience in tissue culture and genetic transformation of wheat.
Responsibilities:
Recruited RA will work on genome-editing for crop improvement. Candidate will also help in preparing reports for the funding agency and write manuscripts for publication.
Emoluments: Rs. 58,000/- per month plus HRA (As per DST OM No. DST/PCPM/Z-06/2022 dated 26.06.2023).

Duration: The position is purely temporary and initial appointment shall be for one year or co-terminus with the project. If subjected to satisfactory research progress and availability of funds, extension thereof, post evaluation the candidate may have yearly extension for another two years.
Essential Qualifications: As a basic criteria Candidates must any one of the following eligibility Options and also meet desirable qualification in the relevant areas.
Option I: Four-year Bachelor’s Degree in Natural or Agricultural Sciences/Biotechnology, or Master’s Degree in Life Science/Natural or Agricultural Sciences/Biotechnology or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Technology/Medicine from a recognized University or equivalent, with four years of experience in R&D in industrial and academic institutions or S&T organizations and scientific activities and services related to plant tissue culture.
OR
Option II: Master’s Degree in Engineering or Technology (including biotechnology) from a recognized University or equivalent, with two years of experience in R&D in industrial and academic institutions or S&T organizations and scientific activities and services.
Desirable Qualification: The candidate should fulfil the relevant experience relevant (as demonstrated by the publication/s) to the objectives of the project, particularly in agricultural biotechnology, molecular biology, plant biotechnology, genome editing, wheat improvement, or related areas.
Responsibility: Recruited SPA will work on genome-editing for crop improvement with a focus on trait improvement in wheat. Candidate will also help in preparing reports for the funding agency and write manuscripts for publication.
Emoluments: Rs. 57,820/- per month plus HRA.

Qualification: Qualified National Eligibility Tests - CSIR-UGC NET including Lectureship (Assistant Professorship), GATE, or National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions.
Experience: Two years' experience in R&D in Industrial and Academic Institutions or Science and Technology Organizations and Scientific activities and services.
Desirable Experience:
1. We seek an enthusiastic and highly motivated candidate who is interested in genome editing of crop plants.
