Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), Manipal, invites applications for the Senior Research Fellow position to work under the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India, funded project titled “Advancing Pandemic Preparedness: Innovative Multidisciplinary Strategies for COMBATing Severe Dengue” at the Manipal Institute of Virology (MIV), Manipal.
Post : Senior Research Fellow (Position : 01)
Qualification : M.Sc. in Virology/ Microbiology/ Biotechnology from a recognized University/Institution, with two or more years of research experience.
Desirable Qualification : Qualified in a National Eligibility Test such as – CSIR-UGC-NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) and GATE.
Preferred Experience : Candidates with prior research experience in dengue/ arbovirology, viral infections, molecular diagnostics, cell culture, molecular biology techniques, immunological assays, or handling of clinical samples will be preferred.
Desirable skills :
• Experience in cell culture, viral/clinical sample processing and/or immunological assays.
• Hands-on experience in molecular biology techniques such as PCR/qPCR and nucleic acid extraction.
• Experience in data analysis, scientific documentation and research reporting.
• Good communication, organizational and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to work in a multidisciplinary research environment.
Job Responsibilities
• The selected candidate will be involved in research activities related to the DBT-funded project, including laboratory experiments, processing and analysis of clinical/research samples, molecular and immunological assays, data collection, analysis and validation, maintenance of research records, preparation of reports and manuscripts, and other project- related activities as assigned by the Principal Investigator and required for successful completion of the project
Remuneration : Rs. 42,000 + 10% HRA per month
