Gujarat Technological University (GTU) is a state university established by the Government of Gujarat in 2007 under the Gujarat Technological University Act. It is headquartered in Ahmedabad and is one of the major technical universities in Gujarat. GTU offers and oversees education across engineering, pharmacy, management, computer applications and other technical disciplines. The university is accredited with an A+ Grade by NAAC and focuses on quality education, research, innovation and industry collaboration.

Qualification
The candidate should fulfill the following requirements:
1. An eminent scholar having a Ph.D. degree in the concerned/allied/relevant discipline, and published work of high quality, actively engaged in research with evidence of published work with a minimum of 10 research publications in Scopus/Web of Science.
AND
2. A minimum of fifteen years of teaching experience, out of which:
3 years of experience as a Professor, and Research experience with evidence of at least 2 successfully guided doctoral candidates, or equivalent pay scale of Level-14, and Research experience at Research or National Level Organisation/Institutions.
Age Limit
The age of superannuation of Director of School shall be 65 years. An extension of 5 years (till attainment of 70 years of age) may be given to those faculty members who:
Are physically fit; Have written technical books; Have published papers; and Have an average 360 feedback of more than 8 out of 10, indicating them being active during the last 3 preceding years of service.
Remuneration
Pay Scale:Rs. 1,44,200 – 2,18,200 (Pay Matrix Level 14)
Other allowances shall be applicable as per norms.
For candidates who are already in service in Pay Matrix Level-14, their existing salary will be taken into consideration in deciding salary as Director at GTU.
For retired Government servants, salary will be Pay minus Pension.
Tenure
Directors shall be appointed for a period of five years, extendable for another term of five years for extraordinary performance.
After completion of his/her term as Director, the incumbent shall join back his/her parent organization.
Duties of Director
The Director shall assist the Vice-Chancellor in managing the:
Academic affairs
Research affairs
Administrative affairs
Other affairs of the school, college or centres
The Director shall exercise powers and perform functions as may be prescribed or entrusted to them by the Vice-Chancellor.

GENERAL INFORMATION AND INSTRUCTIONS TO CANDIDATES
1. The applicant must ensure that he/she fulfills the eligibility criteria for the post.
2. The prescribed qualifications and experience are minimum and the mere fact that a candidate possesses the same does not entitle him/her for being called for Personal Interview.
3. Applicant must produce original testimonials, certificates and other documents at the time of interview, if called.
4. The University shall verify the antecedents and documents submitted by the candidate at any time, at the time of appointment or during the tenure of service.
If it is detected that the documents submitted by the candidate are fake or the candidate has undesirable clandestine antecedents/background and has suppressed the said information, his/her services shall be liable to be terminated.
5. In case of any inadvertent mistake in the process of selection which may be detected at any stage even after the issuance of appointment letter, and/or after appointment, the University reserves the right to modify/withdraw/cancel any communication made to the candidate.
6. The University reserves the right to fill or not to fill the advertised post.
