BRIC-National Agri-Food and Biomanufacturing Institute (BRIC-NABI) is an autonomous Institute under the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India. BRIC-NABI aims at catalysing the transformation of the Agri- food sector in India by being a nodal organization for knowledge generation and translational science leading to value-added products based on Agri-Food biotech innovations for improved household nutritional security. Since its inception in 2010, BRIC-NABI is involved in research activities for Bio-fortification, the development of designer crops for improved nutrition, providing sustainable and novel solutions for quality food and nutrition, and the development of evidence-based functional foods to counter malnutrition. The food and nutritional Biotechnology division at BRIC-NABI requires the following research personnel purely on a temporary basis.

Post: Fellowship and Project / Research Associateship

Positions: Junior Research Fellow (JRF) (One)
Project Title: “Pioneering bioprinting for growth in and out of orbit: one small step at a time for human kind”
Principal Investigator: Dr. Nitin Kumar Singhal, Scientist - F, BRIC-NABI
Duration: One Year, extendable on annual basis for subsequent years subject to satisfactory progress, institutional requirements and financial provisions.
Essential Qualification: Master’s Degree from a recognized University/Institute in M.Sc. Chemistry - Organic / Physical / Materials / Medicinal / Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology, Nanotechnology, Microbiology, Food Technology or related field.
OR
M.Pharm / M.S. Pharm in Biotechnology / Medicinal / Pharmaceutical / Process Chemistry or M.E. / M.Tech. in Biotechnology / Nanotechnology.
Candidates must also have qualified NET/GATE or another relevant/equivalent national-level test for JRF.
Work Area: Biosensor development and aptamer selection.
Desirable Experience: Experience in aptamer selection and basic knowledge of confocal microscopy and fluorescence microscopy.
Emoluments: 37,000/- per month plus HRA.

Positions: Project Associate-1 (One)
Project Title: “Dissecting wheat tissue-type specific iron homeostatic transcriptional responses mediated by basic helix loop helix protein” (GAP-86)
Principle Investigator: Dr. Ajay K. Pandey, Scientist - G, BRIC-NABI
Duration: One Year, extendable on annual basis for subsequent years subject to satisfactory progress. Essential Qualification: As a basic criteria Candidates must any one of the following eligibility Options and also meet desirable qualification in the relevant areas:
Four-year Bachelor’s Degree in Natural or Agricultural Sciences, or Master’s Degree in Natural or Agricultural Sciences / BVSc / BPharm, or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering / Technology / Medicine from a recognized University or equivalent, with four years of experience in R&D in industrial and academic institutions or S&T organizations and scientific activities and services related to plant tissue culture.
OR
Master’s Degree in Engineering or Technology from a recognized University or equivalent, with two years of experience in R&D in industrial and academic institutions or S&T organizations and scientific activities and services.
Responsibilities:
Recruited PA will work on genome-editing for crop improvement with a focus on trait improvement in wheat.
Emoluments: - 25,000/- per month plus HRA (As per DST OM No. DST/PCPM/Z-06/2022 dated 26.06.2023)

Positions: Project Associate-II (One)
Project Title: “Multiplex CRISPR/Cas Mediated Transgene-Free Genome Editing for Developing Panama Wilt Resistance in Banana”
Principal Investigator: Dr. Siddharth Tiwari, Scientist - F, BRIC-NABI
Duration: Till August 2029, subject to satisfactory performance and project requirements.
Essential Qualification: Master’s Degree in Natural Sciences / Agricultural Sciences / Biotechnology / MVSc or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering / Technology / Medicine from a recognized University or equivalent, with two years of experience in R&D in industrial and academic institutions or S&T organizations and scientific activities and services.
Candidates should have qualified CSIR-UGC NET (including lectureship/Assistant Professorship), GATE, or a national-level examination conducted by Central Government departments/agencies/institutions, or possess M.Tech. in Biotechnology/relevant subject.
Desirable Experience: Experience/knowledge in metabolic pathway engineering, plant tissue culture, genome editing, plant genetic engineering, bioinformatics, biochemical and molecular biology techniques, whole genome sequencing, transcriptomic data analysis and plant phenotypic analysis.
Responsibilities: The selected candidate will assist scientists and research scholars in experiments, maintain records of experiments, instruments and consumables, and perform other scientific responsibilities assigned by the in-charge scientist.
Emoluments: 35,000/- per month plus 18% HRA for candidates selected through NET/GATE/national-level examinations. 28,000/- per month plus 18% HRA for other eligible candidates.

Positions: Research Associate (One)
Project Title: “Development of electrospun plastic antibodies and advanced material-based biosensing strips for efficient and facile detection of protein allergens (gluten, β-lactoglobulin, ovalbumin) in food products” (GAP-107)
Principal Investigator: Dr. Vanish Kumar, Scientist - C, BRIC-NABI
Duration: One Year, extendable on annual basis for subsequent years subject to satisfactory progress.
Essential Qualification: Ph.D. in any branch of Life Sciences, Biotechnology or relevant field, with at least two first-author peer-reviewed research publications in Science Citation Index (SCI) journals.
Desirable Experience: Experience in synthesis of advanced nanomaterials for sensing applications, molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs), development of advanced material-based systems and relevant research publications in peer-reviewed journals.
Responsibilities: The selected candidate will be involved in planning and designing experiments, conducting experimental research, developing sensing platforms, modifying nanomaterial surfaces with desired receptors, evaluating developed materials, coordinating the project and other laboratory projects, collection of field samples, preparation of reports for funding agencies and writing research manuscripts.
Emoluments: 67,000/- per month plus HRA.
Age Limit: 40 years (Relaxation is admissible as per Government of India rules)

Application Procedure & Other Conditions
1. Mode of Interview: Candidates must check the note given below each advertised position to confirm whether the interview will be conducted through Walk-in, Online or Hybrid mode.
2. Application Form: Candidates must use the prescribed application form attached with the advertisement and available on the NABI website. CVs sent only through email or phone will not be accepted as valid applications.
3. Sequence of Documents: Documents must be attached in the following order:

Academic supporting documents – from 10th standard through the required qualification
Experience certificate
Caste certificate, if applicable
Self-attested copies of Aadhaar and PAN card at the end.
4. Required Documents: Candidates must not attach expired documents. Candidates appearing for an offline interview must bring the original mark sheets, degree certificates, experience certificates and publications for verification.
5. Application for Multiple Positions: Candidates applying for more than one position can mention their preferred designations in the same application form. A separate application form is not required.
6. Walk-in / Hybrid Candidates: Registration and submission of the duly completed application form will be on 01 October 2026 from 09:00 AM to 10:00 AM at National Agri-Food Biotechnology Institute (NABI), Knowledge City, Sector-81, Mohali, Punjab – 140306.
7. Online Applications: For positions conducted online, the last date for submitting the application is 28 October 2026 up to 05:00 PM.
8. Online Application Submission: Candidates must email a combined PDF containing the application and supporting documents, in the prescribed sequence, to the concerned Principal Investigator. A request for an online interview with proper justification should also be included.
