National Institute of Plant Genome Research (NIPGR) is an independent research institute based in New Delhi, India. It specializes in plant genomics and biotechnology and aims to carry out sophisticated research in the fields of plant biology, particularly in comprehending the structure, function, and evolution of plant genomes.
Post : Senior Research Fellow (one Post)
Applications are invited from suitable candidates for filling up the purely temporary position of one Senior Research Fellow (SRF) in the DBT project entitled “Mainstreaming rice landraces diversity in varietal development through genome-wide association studies (BT/Ag/Network/Rice/2019-20)” under the supervision of Dr. Aashish Ranjan, Scientist, BRIC-NIPGR.
Emoluments : ₹ 42,000/- + 27% HRA per month, as sanctioned in the project
Qualification : Candidates selected through National Eligibility Tests as mentioned in the DST Office Memorandum number DST/PCPM/Z-06/2022 dated 26/06/2023 and having Master’s degree in Life Sciences/ Biotechnology/ Biochemistry/ Plant Physiology/ Genetics & Plant Breeding/ Bioinformatics or any other related fields with at least 60 % (or equivalent) marks and with at least two years of post-Master’s research experience are eligible to apply.
Desirable : Strong basic understanding of molecular biology, genetics, plant breeding, and/or plant physiology is required. Candidates with prior work experience in genomics, phenotyping and GWAS analysis will be given preference.
The above position is completely temporary and co-terminus with the project. The fellowship amount for the above position is as per DBT norms and as sanctioned in the project. The initial appointment for the above post will be for one year or until the project's tenability, whichever is earlier, and the tenure of the post may be curtailed/extended based on the assessment of the candidate's performance and at the discretion of the Competent Authority. BRIC-NIPGR reserves the right to select the candidate against the above post depending upon the qualifications and experience of the candidate. Reservation of posts shall be as per the Government of India norms. The appointment may be terminated at any time by giving one month's notice by either side. The applicants will have no claim, implicit or explicit, for consideration against any regular position of BRIC-NIPGR.
