CSIR-Central Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants (CSIR-CIMAP) is a premier multidisciplinary research institute of Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), India with its major focus on exploiting the potential of medicinal and aromatic plants (MAPs) by cultivation, bioprospection, chemical characterization, extraction, and formulation of bioactive phytomolecules.

WALK-IN-INTERVIEW for engagement of Project Associate-I/II (PAT-I/II) / Project Assistant-II (PA-II) eligible and interested candidates may attend the Walk-in-Interview on the respective date as detailed below for purely temporary engagement as Project Associate-I / II (PAT-I/II) and Project Assistant-II (PA-II) under AROMA MISSION 4.0 Project at CSIR- CIMAP, Research Centre, Pantnagar.

Project Associate-I /II (PAT-I/II)
No of posts : Agricultural Sciences/ Biological Sciences : [Positions :PAT-I 02 Nos., PAT-II- 01 nos.]
Maximum Age : 35 Year
Essential Qualification
For Project Associate-I (PAT-I) : M.Sc. in any branch of agricultural science/M.Sc. in Biological Sciences (Botany/Biochemistry/Biot echnology/ Environmental Science/Microbiology/Plant Science) from a recognized University or equivalent. For Project Associate-II (PAT-II): M.Sc. in any branch of agricultural science/M.Sc. in Biological Sciences (Botany/Biochemistry/Biot echnology/ Environmental Science/Microbiology/Plant Science) from a recognized University or equivalent and 2 years relevant experience in Research and Development in Industrial/Academic/ Research Institutions.
Desirable : Knowledge of medicinal, aromatic crops cultivation and quality planting material generation. Fieldwork experience, plant breeding etc. in medicinal, aromatic crops would be preferred.
Monthly Emoluments (₹)
For Project Associate- I (PAT- I) : i) ₹ 31,000/- + HRA to Scholars who are selected through (a) National Eligibility Tests-CSIR- UGC/ICAR NET/LS qualification or GATE or (b) A selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions. ii) ₹ 25,000/- + HRA for others who do not fall under (i) above For Project Associate- II (PAT-II) : i) ₹ 35,000/- + HRA to Scholars who are selected through (a) National Eligibility Tests-CSIR- UGC/ICAR NET/LS qualification or GATE or (b) A selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions. ii) ₹ 28,000/- + HRA for others who do not fall under (i) above

Project Associate-II (PAT-II)
No of posts : Chemical Sciences [Positions : PAT- II- 01 nos.]
Maximum Age : 35 Year
Essential Qualification : Project Associate-II: M.Sc in Organic Chemistry/ Pharmaceutical Chemistry from a recognized University or equivalent and 2 years relevant experience in Research and Development in Industrial/Academic/ Research Institutions.
Monthly Emoluments : For Project Associate- II : ii) ₹ 35,000/- + HRA to Scholars who are selected through (a) National Eligibility Tests-CSIR- UGC/ICAR NET/LS qualification or GATE or (b) A selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions.
ii) ₹ 28,000/- + HRA for others who do not fall under (i) above

Project Assistant-II (PA-II)

Essential Qualification For Project Assistant-II (PA-II)
B.Sc./B.Sc. Ag. (Biological/Agricultura l Science) Knowledge of medicinal, aromatic crops cultivation and quality planting material generation. Fieldwork experience.
Monthly Emoluments : For Project Assistant-II (PA-II) Rs. 20,000/- + HRA as per funding agency

Mode of Selection
Selection is to be done on the basis of performance in the Walk-in- Interview. A written test may be conducted if the candidates appear in higher numbers. The Walk-in-Interview will be conducted on 23rd September 2026 (Reporting Time: 09:30 AM to 10:30 AM) at CSIR- CIMAP Research Centre, PO- Dairy Farm Nagla, Pantnagar, Dist. Udham Singh Nagar, Uttarakhand.

General Terms & Conditions
1. Engagement will be initially for a period of one year, and may be extended or curtailed depending upon the project requirement and desired level performance or conduct of the incumbent, and availability of Funds from funding agencies as the case may be. 2. The tenure of Project Staff shall be co-terminus with the project. However, under no circumstances the tenure would be allowed to exceed five years’ duration. The performance of the Project Staff would be reviewed periodically so that any one not found up to the mark, could be terminated.
3. The position is only temporary and, therefore, will not confer any right on the incumbent to any claim, implicit or explicit on any post in CSIR-CIMAP.
4. The upper age limit as on date of Walk-in-Interview, is relaxable per the Government of India Rules.
5. On completion of the tenure in one project, in case, one wants to apply for engagement in another project, he/she will have to go through the process of selection by submitting a fresh application under the new project. Engagement of the Project Staff under the new project would be made only after submission of resignation and “No Dues Certificate” in the previous project.
6. HRA will be paid as per CSIR rules/Funding agency.
7. The Project Staff shall be permitted to avail leave and dispensary facility, as per rules. Dispensary facility\ies will be for self only and not for family members or dependants.

8. Experience, wherever required, will be counted from the date of acquiring minimum educational qualification.
9. Final semester and result awaited candidates will not be allowed to appear for Walk-in- Interview.
10. The candidates who wish to appear in Walk-in-Interview should come along with all Original Documents, 01 (One) set of Self Attested Photocopies of all the educational testimonials and 01 (One) Recent Passport size photograph, failing which the candidate will not be allowed to appear in the Walk-in-Interview.
11. No TA will be paid to candidates for attending the interview.
12. No request for Online Interview will be entertained.
13. The number of positions is tentative and subject to change at the time of interview.
14. NO INTERIM ENQUIRY OR CORRESPONDENCE WILL BE ENTERTAINED.
