Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), Manipal invites applications for the Research position to work under the ICMR intermediate grant-funded multicentre study titled "SGLT2 Inhibition and Remote Ischemic Preconditioning to Prevent Contrast-Associated Acute Kidney Injury in High-Risk Patients Undergoing Percutaneous Coronary Intervention : A Multicenter Randomized 2×2 Factorial Trial" at the Department of Nephrology, Kasturba Medical College (KMC), Manipal.
RESEARCH POSITION
Project Research Scientist-I (Project manager) (Position: 02)
Essential qualifications :
• First Class Post Graduate Degree, including the integrated PG degrees in the field of Life Sciences/Biomedical Sciences /Clinical Research/ Biochemistry/Public Health or related disciplines
OR
• Second Class Post Graduate Degree, including the integrated PG degrees in the field of Life Sciences/Biomedical Sciences /Clinical Research/ Biochemistry/Public Health or related disciplines with PhD
Desirable qualifications :
• PhD, or PG degree with two years post-PG research experience
• Experience in Randomized Controlled Trials and multicentre study coordination
• Proficiency in scientific writing and statistical software (SPSS/R/Stata or equivalent)
• Experience with REDCap software and data management
• Working knowledge of Kannada is desirable, but not mandatory
Key responsibilities
• Coordinate research activities across all participating study sites and ensure smooth implementation of the study protocol. This may require travel to participating sites for project staff training and periodic audits (cost of travel and stay, if needed, will be borne by the project fund)
• Training and supervision of project staff
• Identify, screen and recruit eligible participants
• Coordinate participant visits, intervention administration, follow- up and retention throughout the study period.
• Coordinate collection, processing, storage and documentation of biological samples as per the study SOPs.
• Coordinate shipping of study drug to all participating sites and maintain detailed documentation related to the study drug supply, shipping and storage
• Assist with biochemical and biomarker analyses
• Ensure accurate and timely collection, recording and entry of study data in case report forms, electronic databases and other relevant study documents.
• Monitor data quality, identify discrepancies and assist in resolution of data queries.
• Maintain participant records, study files, screening/enrolment logs, intervention records and follow-up documentation.
• Coordinate communication between investigators, participating sites and study personnel and provide regular updates on study progress.
• Coordinate Data and Safety Monitoring Board (DSMB) meetings, maintain minutes of the meetings, facilitate communication between investigators, participating sites and DSMB to provide regular updates on study progress.
• Assist the Principal Investigator in preparation of progress reports, presentations, abstracts, manuscripts and other study- related documents.
• Ensure confidentiality of participant information and adherence to the approved protocol, institutional requirements and applicable ethical guidelines.
• Any other duties assigned by the Principal Investigator
Age limit : 35 years
Remuneration : Rs. 56,000 +10% HRA

Project Technical Support-III (Position : 02)
Essential qualifications :
• Three Years Graduate degree in the field of Life Sciences/ Biomedical Sciences/Clinical Research/ Biochemistry/ Public Health or related disciplines + Three Years post qualification experience OR
• PG in the field of Life Sciences/Biomedical Sciences/Clinical Research/ Biochemistry/Public Health or related disciplines Desirable qualifications :
• Prior research experience, preferably in RCTs
• Proficiency in venipuncture is desirable
• Laboratory skills such as handling and processing of biological samples, centrifugation, ELISA etc.
• Scientific writing skills
• Fluency in spoken Kannada is essential
• Experience with REDCap software and data management is desirable
Key responsibilities :
• Day-to-day management of the study, including screening and identification of eligible study participants, informed consent taking and recruitment, delivery of study interventions, data collection and entry, identification and reporting of adverse events to the study investigators for further action, and study participant follow-up
• Maintain participant records, study files, screening/ enrolment logs, intervention records and follow-up documentation.
• Collection, proper handling and storage of biological samples
• Analysis of blood and urine samples (ELISA)
• Assist the Principal Investigator in preparation of progress reports, presentations, abstracts, manuscripts and other study-related documents.
• Ensure confidentiality of participant information and adherence to the approved protocol, institutional requirements and applicable ethical guidelines.
• Any other duties assigned by the Principal Investigator

Remuneration : Rs. 28,000 +10% HRA
