Advertisement for Life Sciences candidates at IIT Jammu

In 2018, IIT Jammu shifted its primary operations to the 400 acres of lush green land in Jagti village, just outside Jammu city, provided by the Government of Jammu and Kashmir for establishing its main campus. Currently, Phase 1A of the main campus, spread across 25 acres, is operational. Phase 1B and 1C are undergoing rapid construction. The main campus of the Institute is located on National Highway–44, 17 km from the Jammu Airport and 19 km from the Jammu Tawi Railway Station.

Post : Technical Assistant

The Outsource Agency invites online applications to fill the following post, to work at IIT Jammu on outsource basis

Age Limit : 30 years
Period of Engagement : Initially for 01 Year (yearly extendable based on the performance and requirement)
Consolidated Salary package : 35,000/- per month

Eligibility Criteria : (i) Post - Graduation in any discipline of life sciences from a Govt. recognized University or Institute with at least 60% marks in aggregate or equivalent grade for general category candidates. For candidates belonging to OBC category 55% marks and for SC/ST category 50% marks are required.
(ii) 1 year experience of working in a laboratory is desirable.

Desirable : (i) MSc/M Pharm/M Tech in Biosciences or any discipline of life sciences.
(ii) Computer proficiency in data management, MS Office & email communications etc.

Job Description
Overall taking care of the Laboratory sessions apart from supporting laboratory classes, the Technical Assistant will also contribute to ongoing research activities within the BSBE Department and take part in the outreach program, thereby enhancing their professional skills and experience.

General Instructions :

(iii) The Outsource Agency will depute the selected candidate at IIT Jammu on outsource basis.
(iv) Good knowledge of Computer applications (on emails, word processing, spreadsheet, presentations software etc. and OS like MS-Windows) is a must.
(v) Only shortlisted candidates shall be called for Trade Test/Interaction evaluation. Mere qualifications may not ensure short-listing and Institute may apply higher than minimum cut off criteria to ensure reasonable number of candidates.
(vi) The Candidate needs to bring all the original documents for verification during Trade Test/Interaction.
