Recruitment of JRF in GSBTM Sponsored Research Project

The wave of globalization has propelled the expansion of Indian pharma sector. India is amongst the top 10 countries of the world, in terms of volume and value of Pharmaceutical products. Enthusiastic and entrepreneurial efforts have turned Gujarat into the hub of Pharma industry.  The innovative and translational approach of the Indian scientists resulted in paradigm shift from industrial age to knowledge enriched economy. Pharmaceutical education has played a vital role in human resource development, catalysing the growth of life sciences and healthcare industry.

Post : Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

Applications are invited from the eligible candidates for one Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position in a project to be undertaken at the Department of Medicinal Chemistry, NIPER- Ahmedabad. The position is temporary and will be co-terminus with the project. If the JRF fulfils the mentioned criteria, admission to Ph.D. through NIPER entrance may be considered. The requisite qualification & experience etc. are given below.

Project Title : Targeting Sweet Spot in Oral Cancer: Development of Novel Quinazolinones for Electrophillic Modification of Tumor Pyruvate Kinase M2

Duration : Initial appointment will be for one year, which is extendable up to the duration of the project (3 years), solely based on performance.
Funding Agency : Gujarat State Biotechnology Mission, Department Of Science & Technology, Government Of Gujarat

Qualification
• M.Sc. / M.Pharm/ M.S / M.Tech in Pharmaceutical Chemistry / Medicinal Chemistry or Equivalent with an exceptionally good academic record with a minimum CGPA of 6.0 on a 10.0 point scale (or 60% marks).
• Candidates having experience in organic synthesis, design and development of nitrogen heterocyclics, bioinformatics, and knowledge of spectroscopic tools of structure elucidation will be preferred.
• NET/GATE qualification is desirable.
Fellowship : (i) Rs. 31000 + HRA (1st and 2nd year), and 35000 + HRA for 3rd year (for candidates with qualifications as per Department of Science and Technology GoI, Office memorandum SR/S9/Z08/2018 dated 30/01/2019). (ii) Rs. 23,213/- Fixed (For fellows not having qualification as per Government of India Guidelines).


Job Profile
The primary focus of the projects are:
(i) Multi-step syntheses and purification of complex heterocycles
(ii) Cell-free and cell-based assays
(iii) Spectroscopic characterization of the compounds
(iv) Computational studies
