The Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT) Mumbai was established as the Department of Chemical Technology on 1st October, 1933 by the University of Mumbai, through active support of industries and philanthropists. The Institute was most popularly known as UDCT, Mumbai. Research has been an integral part of ICT since its inception and it has created over 500 first generation entrepreneurs. The UDCT grew significantly in stature and was granted autonomy under UGC regulations by the University of Mumbai and further converted in to an Institute on 26th January, 2002.

Post : Junior Research Fellow

Project Title : Continuous Flow Process Development for the Synthesis of volatile oil

Sponsor : Teqip III

Qualification : M.Pharm. (Pharmaceutical Chemistry/ Analytical Chemistry or equivalent), OR M.Tech (Pharm Tech.), OR M.Sc. (Organic Chemistry/ Bioorganic Chemistry or equivalent)

Eligibility : Candidate should have good knowledge of basic Organic Chemistry and Process Chemistry. He/she should be well-versed with chemical handling, synthesis and analytical techniques. The project involves optimization of reaction parameters for preparation of selected volatile oils and translating these reactions into continuous flow chemistry.

Kindly note that student should have cleared the ICT’s Ph.D entrance test held in the current academic year 2018-19

Remuneration/Fellowship : Rs. 25,000/- per month + 30% HRA

Principal Investigator : Prof. Mariam S. Degani

The project fellow will be appointed initially for 6 months and the tenure may be extended based on performance, for the subsequent period. All appointments are terminated with end of the project. The fellow will register for PhD, as per ICT rules.

Interested candidates should come for the walk-in interview to be held on 24th September 2018 at 3:00 pm in the Pharma conference room (A-253). Candidates should carry along with them the cover letter, curriculum vitae, proof of their qualifications including proof of attending ICT’s Ph.D entrance examination held in July/August 2018 along with their marks.

Selection will be based on an interview conducted by a committee.

The recommendation of the committee will be final. No TA/DA will be provided to appear for this interview
