Vacancy for Consultant in National Institute of Malaria Research | Remuneration 35000/- pm

National Institute of Malaria Research (NIMR) was established in 1977 as 'Malaria Research Centre', which was renamed as 'National Institute of Malaria Research' in November 2005. NIMR is one of the institutes of the Indian Council of Medical Research (an autonomous body under Department of Health Research, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India). The primary task of the Institute is to find short term as well as long term solutions to the problems of malaria through basic, applied and operational field research. The Institute also plays a key role in man power resource development through trainings/workshops and transfer of technology.

A post of Consultant is to be filled up purely on contractual basis for a period of one year in the Publication Division of NIMR. Applications are invited for the same up to 15.09.2016. Essential details are mentioned below.

Post: Consultant

Remuneration: 35000/- per month (Consolidated)

Essential Qualification:
1. First class Masters Degree in Biological sciences or second class Masters Degree + PhD in the relevant discipline.
2. Knowledge/research experience in vector borne diseases and published papers.

Desirable Qualifications:
I. Two years experience in editing of scientific journals/publications.
II. Diploma or other professional certification in Publication, etc.
III. Good command over English language; knowledge of peer-review system, print and production, computer applications etc.

Job Responsibilities
Initial screening and assignment of manuscripts to reviewers, editing of accepted manuscripts to be published in Journal of Vector Borne Diseases, compilation and editing of annual reports and other publications of the institute etc.

Age limit: Below 65 years
