Applications are invited from eligible candidates for the following project positions under the extramural research project entitled “Fecal Microbiota Transplantation as a Non-Pharmacological Treatment for Alcohol Use Disorder in Early Alcohol-Associated Liver Disease: A Multi-centre, Triple-blind, Randomized Controlled Trial”, sanctioned by the Indian Council of Medical Research vide File No. EM/DEV/MC/2026/0057/NM dated 05.09.2026 (IRIS Project ID IIRPIG(NAG)-I-2026-03-0057-F2), under Dr. Mohit Kumar Varshney, Associate Professor, Department of Psychiatry, ILBS.
The essential qualifications, age limits and emoluments below are as per the ICMR norms for project human resource positions and the sanctioned budget of the project.
Project Research Scientist-II (Non-Medical) 01 (UR)
Emoluments per month : Rs. 67,000 + HRA @ 30% = Rs. 87,100
Upper age limit : 40 years
Essential qualification : First Class Post Graduate degree, including integrated PG degrees, in Life Sciences, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry or Genetics, with three years of experience, or PhD in the above subjects OR Second Class Post Graduate degree in the above subjects, including integrated PG degrees, with PhD and three years of experience.
Desirable qualification : Experience of microbiome sequencing and bioinformatic analysis; authorship of standard operating procedures; regulatory and quality documentation for clinical trials; publications in peer- reviewed journals.
Project Technical Support- III (Trial Coordinator) 01 (UR)
Emoluments per month : Rs. 28,000 + HRA @ 30% = Rs. 36,400
Upper age limit : 35 years
Essential qualification : Three-year Graduate degree in Life Sciences, Nursing, Allied Health Sciences or Psychology from a recognised university, plus three years of experience OR Master's degree in the above subjects.
Desirable qualification : Experience of coordinating clinical trials, preferably multi-centre; electronic data capture and query management; training in Good Clinical Practice; knowledge of computer applications and data management.
Project Technical Support- III (FMT Preparation and Batch Quality Control) 01 (UR)
Emoluments per month : Rs. 28,000 + HRA @ 30% = Rs. 36,400
Upper age limit : 35 years
Essential qualification : Three-year Graduate degree in Life Sciences with specialisation in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry or Zoology from a recognised university, plus three years of experience OR Master's degree in the above subjects.
Desirable qualification : Hands-on experience in anaerobic microbiological techniques, including use of a Class II Biological Safety Cabinet and an anaerobic workstation; experience in stool and biological sample processing, cryopreservation and cold- chain maintenance (−80°C storage, dry- ice shipment, use of temperature loggers); familiarity with donor and sample screening protocols, including microbial safety quality control assays such as C. difficile toxin EIA and ESBL/CRE/MRSA selective culture; exposure to molecular biology techniques (DNA extraction, PCR) relevant to 16S rRNA sample preparation; experience of maintaining laboratory logbooks, SOP-based documentation and chain-of-custody records, preferably in a GCP or biobank- compliant environment; prior experience in a clinical trial or biorepository setting
Terms and conditions
1. Applications, in the prescribed format, along with a detailed curriculum vitae and self-attested copies of certificates of age, qualification and experience, must be sent by email to sonukumarisingh85@gmail.com so as to reach on or before 15.10.2026 up to 5:00 PM. The subject line of the email must state the name of the post applied for. Applications received after this date and time will not be considered.
2. The cut-off date for the upper age limit is the last date for receipt of applications. Age relaxation will be as per the guidelines of ICMR.
3. Qualification and experience must be in the relevant discipline and from an institution of repute. Experience will be counted only from the date of acquiring the minimum essential qualification.
4. The rates of emoluments shown above are project specific and may vary according to the sanction of the funding agency. Payment of emoluments will depend on the availability of funds from the funding agency.
5. The positions are purely temporary and contractual and are co-terminus with the project. Initial engagement will be for one year, extendable on satisfactory performance, continuation of the project and availability of funds, within the sanctioned duration of four years. The engagement confers no claim whatsoever to a regular post in the Institute or in any department of Government. Benefits of Provident Fund, Pension, Leave Travel Concession and medical claim are not admissible.
6. Persons already in regular time-scale service under any Government department or organisation are not eligible to apply.
7. Applications will be scrutinised by a Screening Committee against the criteria above, and only shortlisted candidates will be called for interview before a duly constituted Interview Committee. Mere fulfilment of the essential qualification does not entitle a candidate to be shortlisted or selected.
8. Candidates must bring all original certificates and one set of self-attested photocopies at the time of interview, along with a photo identity document.
9. No travelling or daily allowance will be paid for attending the interview.
10. Canvassing in any form will be a disqualification.
11. The Institute reserves the right to fill or not to fill any or all of the posts, to vary the number of posts, and to raise the criteria for shortlisting where the number of applications so warrants. The Institute also reserves the right to withdraw, cancel or modify the recruitment process at any stage. No correspondence will be entertained in this regard.
