Pharma Fellowship at Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur

The history of the IIT system dates back to 1946 when a committee was set up by Hon'ble Sir Jogendra Singh, Member of the Viceroy's Executive Council, Department of Education, Health and Agriculture to consider the setting up of Higher Technical Institutions for post war industrial development in India. The 22 member committee headed by Sri N.R.Sarkar, in its report, recommended the establishment of four Higher Technical Institutions in the Eastern, Western, Northern and Southern regions, possibly on the lines of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA, with a number of secondary institutions affiliated to it.

Qualifications and Relevant Experience : Four years Bachelors Degree in Biology related Sciences / Masters Degree in Biological sciences / B.Pharm or Bachelors degree in Engineering or Technology / M.Pharm or Masters degree in Engineering or Technology or in medicine in from a recognized University or equivalent. Selected through a process described through any one of the following : a. Scholars who are selected through National Eligibility Tests - CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) and GATE.
b. The selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MoE, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER, NISER etc.

Proposed Fellowship : Upto Rs.37000 (depending upon qualification & experience)
Application Fees : NIL

Age Limit : 35 (Age rules may be relaxed upon fulfilling sponsor agency rules, if any)
Desirable Criteria : Experience in paper-based microfluidics/ Lateral flow assay/ medical device development
Tenure : 12 Months or the termination of the project, whichever is earlier.
