Opportunity for Degree in Life Sciences or Pharmaceutical Sciences to join AIIMS

Applications are invited in the prescribed format attached herewith for the following purely temporary contractual basis for different posts mentioned below sanctioned under ICMR Research project entitled “Efficacy and Safety of Semaglutide Versus Placebo on Cardiometabolic Profile in Patients With Schizophrenia With Metabolic Syndrome: A Multicentre, Double-Blind, Randomised Controlled Trial (ESCaMS Trial)” under Dr. Debadatta Mohapatra, Associate Professor, Psychiatry, AIIMS Bhubaneswar.

Post : Project Research Scientist –I (Non –Medical)

Essential Qualification : Postgraduate Degree in Life Sciences or Pharmaceutical Sciences, including the integrated PG Degrees
Desirable Qualification : Research experience in clinical trials and working knowledge of biostatistics and/or PhD
Emoluments : 56000 + 20% HRA
Max. Age limit : 35

General Terms & Conditions
1. Nature of appointment: The posts are purely temporary and contractual and are sanctioned under the ICMR-funded project. The selected candidates will be engaged under the ICMR project and NOT as employees of AIIMS Bhubaneswar.
2. Tenure: The initial engagement will be for a period of 11 months. Extension will depend on the requirements of the project, satisfactory performance and approval of the competent authority/ICMR, up to a maximum of 3 years or completion of the project, whichever is earlier.
3. Expiry and termination: The contract will expire automatically on completion of the project or earlier if the funding agency withdraws support. The engagement may be terminated by either side by giving one month's notice. The institute may terminate the engagement forthwith by paying one month's emoluments in lieu of notice; however, an appointee who wishes to leave must serve the full notice period and may not pay emoluments in lieu of it.
4. No claim to regular appointment: The engagement does not confer any right to regular appointment, permanent absorption, continued contractual engagement or transfer to any other project in AIIMS Bhubaneswar, ICMR or any Department of the Government of India.
5. Emoluments and benefits: The emoluments shown in this advertisement are as per ICMR 178518/2026/PSYCH 2 File No. PSYCH/13/2026-PSYCH DEPT-Part(1) (Computer No. 23695) guidelines and the project sanction. Benefits such as Provident Fund, Pension, Leave Travel Concession and medical reimbursement are not admissible. An undertaking to this effect must be submitted at the time of joining.
6. Leave: Leave entitlement will be governed by the ICMR/AIIMS Bhubaneswar policy for contractual project staff.
7. Accommodation: No hostel or other accommodation will be provided by the institute.
8. Persons in regular service: Persons already in regular time-scale service under any Government Department/Organisation are not eligible to apply.
9. Documents at joining: Selected candidates must produce the following in original for verification at the time of joining: (1) educational qualification certificates; (2) proof of date of birth; (3) experience certificates; (4) one recent passport-size photograph; (5) identity proof (Aadhaar/PAN/Voter ID/Driving Licence); (6) one set of self-attested photocopies of all documents; and (7) SC/ST/OBC/Disability certificate, if applicable.
10. Failure to produce documents: A candidate who fails to produce the original certificates at joining, or whose documents show any discrepancy, will not be allowed to join, and the position will be offered to the next candidate on the waiting list.

11. False information: Furnishing wrong or false information, or wilful suppression of any material fact, will lead to disqualification at any stage, removal from service and such other action as the Government/ICMR may deem fit.
12. Selection not guaranteed: Merely fulfilling the essential qualifications does not guarantee selection. Canvassing in any form will lead to disqualification.
13. Rights reserved: AIIMS Bhubaneswar reserves the right to cancel or modify the recruitment process at any stage and to accept or reject any application without assigning reasons. The decision of the Director, AIIMS Bhubaneswar, will be final and binding.

Procedure for Recruitment
1. 2. Separate applications: Candidates applying for more than one post must submit a separate application for each post.
3. Eligibility: Candidates are responsible for ensuring that they fulfil the prescribed qualification and experience. Qualifications and experience must be in the relevant discipline from a recognised institution, and experience will be counted only after acquiring the minimum essential qualification. A candidate found ineligible at the time of document verification will be disqualified, even after selection.
4. Screening and shortlisting: If the number of applications is large, a screening round will be conducted. Shortlisted candidates will be informed of the interview by email only; candidates must therefore provide an active email address and also check the institute website regularly for updates.
5. Walk-in interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for a Walk-In-Interview/personal discussion. The cut-off date for the age limit will be the date of interview. Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PwD candidates is admissible as per Government of India rules. 6.
