Life Sciences Fellowship in HPV vaccinees study at Regional Centre for Biotechnology

The Regional Centre for Biotechnology (RCB) is an institution of national importance and a statutory body established by the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India. It functions as a UNESCO Category II Centre with regional and global partnerships. RCB’s primary mandate is to provide world-class education and training, and to conduct innovative, interdisciplinary research in biotechnology to develop high-quality human resources in a globally competitive research environment.

Post : Project Research Fellow (One post)

Title of Project : Understanding the correlates of vaccine-induced immune response: an Indian cohort study involving HPV vaccinees.
Funder : Serum Institute of India (SII), Pune, India.
Principal Investigators : Dr. Arvind Sahu, Executive Director; and Prof. Prasenjit Guchhait & Prof. Tushar K. Maiti
No. of Positions : Two (02)
Duration : Initially for one (01) year, extendable for another year based on performance.
Essential need : Candidate should have a commitment of at least a year.

Emoluments : Rs. 45,000/- per month, consolidated.

Essential Qualifications : M.Sc. in Life Sciences or related natural science disciplines from recognized Universities or equivalent, with at least 60% marks.
Essential requirement : Experience of working with
1) Blood sample separation and storing,
2) Handling human blood samples or related biological samples, required for research purposes.
3) Molecular biology assays like ELISA, cell culture, PCR analysis, etc.
4) A certificate of related experience (from concerned principal investigator) should be uploaded.

Desirable requirement : Experience of
1) Maintain biorepository records,
2) performing experiment using techniques such as flow cytometry microscopy, western blot and mass spectrometry analysis.
