Established in 1984, the Institute of Microbial Technology is one among the chain of 37 national laboratories, 6 units and 39 outreach centres of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research. Set-up to be a fore-runner in the niche domain of microbial biotechnology, the Institute in its initial years functioned from a start-up laboratory that provided a truly world-class R&D ambience in an area of over 10,000 sq. ft. to its researchers.

Post : Senior Project Associate – 01

Project Title : “Influence of the use of transgenic cotton hybrids on the soil microbial community in comparison to soil samples from uncultivated plots”

Essential Qualification :
(I) Masters/Integrated Masters in Natural or Agricultural or Pharmaceutical Sciences/MVSc/Animal Sciences.
OR
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology or Medicine from a recognized University or equivalent.
AND
3 years’ experience in Research and Development in Industrial and academic institutions or science and technology organizations and scientific activities and services.
OR
(II) Masters/Integrated Masters in Engineering or Technology from a recognized University.
OR
Doctoral Degree in Science/Pharma/MD/MS from a recognized University or equivalent.
AND
2 years’ experience in Research and Development in Industrial and Academic Institutions or Science and Technology Organizations and Scientific activities and services.

Desirable : Experience in characterizing microbes (phenotypic and genetic), preservation of microbes, PCR-based identification methods, sequencing and analysis.

Monthly Emoluments : Rs. 42,000/- + HRA (p.m.)

Upper Age Limit : 40 years
Age Relaxation : Relaxation in the age limit for candidates belonging to the categories of SC/ST/PwBD/Women and OBC shall be 05 years and 03 years respectively.
