BRIC-National Institute of Biomedical Genomics (NIBMG) Kalyani is an Institute of Government of India, Ministry of Science & Technology, Department of Biotechnology. The Institute has created the necessary physical infrastructure and critical platform technologies to support research, translation and trainingin biomedical genomics. 

We are looking for motivated and individuals with good academic standing who are interested in exploring career opportunities in this innovative multi-organization initiative undertaken by NIBMG in the position mentioned as below.

Post : Senior Research Fellow (SRF) (as per DST O.M. DST/PCPM /Z06/2022)

Project name : Inter-Institutional Programme for Maternal Neonatal and Infant Sciences a Translational approach-interdisciplinary group for advanced research on Birth outcomes-DBT India Initiative (GARBH-Ini Phase II)

Project Description : Under its Grand Challenge Programme, the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Govt. of India, has initiated a large multi–institutional and multi–phase research programme on PTB. The first phase of the programme has formally been launched in December 2013. The PTB programme has established a hospital-based cohort of pregnant women starting from the first trimester, each of whom will be followed up until delivery (GARBH-Ini). The cohort is ongoing in a district hospital in Gurgaon, Haryana. Because of the multifactorial nature of preterm birth, scientific expertise from multiple domains of clinical, biological, and statistical sciences are required to identify the correlates, causes and predictive biomarkers of preterm birth. Therefore, a cross-disciplinary platform is being used to bridge expertise from disparate fields, such as, paediatrics, gynaecology, infectious disease biology, epidemiology, microbiology, immunology, cellular & molecular biology, genetics, statistics and computational & systems biology.

Consolidated Remuneration [INR] Per Month : Rs 42000/- per month + 24% HRA (as per DST guidelines)

Essential Qualifications : 1) Post Graduate Degree in Life Science OR Graduate / Post Graduate Degree in Professional Courses in the field of Biological Sciences selected through a process described through any one of the following : a) Scholars who are selected through CSIR-UGC NET including Lecturer ship and GATE 
b) The selection Process through National Level Examination conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MoE, ICMR etc. 
2) Minimum 2 years of research experience.

Desirable Qualifications : 
1) Hands on experience in next generation sequencing, bulk and single cell transcriptom ics and data analysis 
2) Research experience in maternal and child health with peer reviewed publication in this area

Nature of Duty : 
1) Hands on experiments on in next generation sequencing/bu lk and single cell transcriptomic s and data analysis 
2) Scientific interpretation, preparation of scientific reports and manuscripts, any other work in the project assigned by PI


Terms and Conditions
1. Age Limit : The upper age limit for applying for the post of SRF shall be 35 years as on the closing date of application. 
2. Age Relaxation: Relaxation of the upper age limit for SC/ST/OBC/PWD and female candidates will be applicable as per the prevailing norms of the Government of India. 
3. Tenure of Appointment: The appointment will be offered on a contractual basis initially up to one year.
